Eastland Men's Caleb Double Strap Slide Sandal

I was looking for a less expensive version of the Birkenstock Arizona sandal when I found the Eastland Caleb. I chose the Caleb for several reasons, including the great price. I also like Eastland shoes for their respectable quality, and because they fit me well, which is especially important for sandals. I have narrow feet of different widths and lengths, so finding sandals that adjust to my needs can be difficult. Knowing that Eastland shoes don't run ultra wide was a plus, but so were the Velcro closures, since they allow for more precise adjustments than buckles do. However, I do wish Eastland offered half sizes, because the size I settled on is just a tiny bit small, while the next size up was too big.The leather strap uppers are soft and comfortable, despite having finished leather that looks like it might be stiff and hard. I found some rough stitching protruding from the strap underside on one of the sandals, but the unfinished leather and stitching is mostly smooth and comfortable. The soles are also comfortable, but they're still my biggest complaint, because they're not as thick or comfortable as the Birkenstock sole. The cork mid-sole appears to be quite thin, but Eastland covered it with thick memory foam to increase comfort - I would have preferred a thicker cork sole, that probably would be far more comfortable down the road, with, or without, the memory foam.Overall, I'm very pleased with these sandals, though, and I'm not sure they can be beat at this price point. Plus, the precise adjustment available with Velcro straps is somewhat unique for this type of sandal and gives it an edge over those with rough buckles that can only be adjusted incrementally.

I have purchased these sandals every year for the passed 3 years. The pair that I received just 3 weeks ago already looks like the 1 year old pair. I am disappointed with the poor quality. The sandals are worn almost exclusively indoors by a 130 pound 87 year old man. The heel lining has pulled away from the cork foundation. In addition the sole is already worn down on the heel. This is what one may expect from a $20 pair of sandals. Amazon sells them for $80. Not recommended.

They were pretty uncomfortable at first, but I decided to wait them out and see if they broke in at all - they did. Much more comfortable after a week or twos worth or wear. The look good, get lots of compliments. Just 4 stars because they're not quite AS comfortable as a couple of other similar pairs I bought of different brands. Overall recommended, especially for the price.

These sandals are really well made and comfortable but do run small. I had to open the velcro flaps fairly wide so my feet don't hang off the back--thankfully these are adjustable. Eastland makes good shoes but sizes are inconsistent--fortunately the quality outweighs the issues. Also, these are much less $$ than Birkies.

Havent decided if the sandal with the velcro clasp is much better than with a buckle. Fits wellI will see how it can take the every day or each time I use them. At this point I Have given them the highestrating

For the price these are almost as good as the well known name brand. Quality seems to be good and having Velcro instead of buckles is also a plus.

This opinion is based on my initial thoughts and feel. It give my feet a neat look, it's comfortable but I can't say for how long as I am yet to go out in it. It looks durable and classy.

Was at least trying a different pair vs Birkenstocks. These didn't make it half the life that Birk's do (which is ~7-8 months for me.) They were comfortable while they stuck together though.
