The best science DVD ever
For people of a certain age Cosmos is legendary. It changed the way we think about the world and the universe, and it certainly changed the way TV presented science to the world.Dr Carl Sagan was not only a super intelligent man, but he could communicate difficult and complex ideas easily to the masses.Cosmos is simply the greatest science documentary in history. Sagan not only tells us about the story of the universe, but of the creation and formation of Earth, the Solar System, and of us. He travels through time and space in his spaceship of the imagination (a dandelion!) and also reflects on humanity's successes and mistakes when it came to enlightenment.Cosmos was for me as a young child growing up a seminal moment of TV. To finally get to own it on DVD was amazing.I cannot recommend this enough.

Carl Sagan’s Cosmos is Out of this World
I rarely have time to write reviews but I am absolutely “over the moon” with my early Xmas gift to myself. It’s “out of this world”. My son gave me the Audible version and I am so looking forward to reading them in conjunction with each other. (like Jupiter and Saturn on the 21st December) The images are beautiful. I am a lucky 70 year old! I have always respected Carl Sagan and feel lucky that I have his iconic book. It will become a family heirloom hopefully for as long as our Pale Blue Dot exists. 🔵 🔵🔵

Classic science education
He was the David Attenborough of the cosmology...what more can be said? Sagan's ability to relate difficult concepts was top-notch, and the really cool thing is watching this and realizing some of the discoveries we've made since the original filming. Also interesting to note is the genuine concern he expresses regarding the potential outcome of our technological adolescence - it was a dominating fear in his writing as well. Do we simply self-destruct?Of particular interest to me was his consistent mention of the warming of the earth - this was 30 years ago, and it was a concern among scientific circles then. That some fools today can look at climate change as if it was some sort of new fad or trick just stuns me.

600 million viewers in 60 countries can't be wrong
Having recently watched `The stars at night - The 700th' (congratulations to Patrick Moore on achieving the longest running TV series ever), it seems Carl Sagan got pretty much everything right during his short stay on our planet. The DVD's are as fresh and enlightening as the first time I saw the series on TV, and, considering the technology available at the time, the imagery is astounding. It is said "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God". Fully digitally remastered, take a look - and be amazed at the simplicity and purity of the message.
