Has served me well
Has worked very well: compact, light, and comfortable. Not cheap, however.

Crinkle noise is better than expected. No problems here
This is my third mattress from Therma-Rest. I have a self inflating, a short summer lightweight summer time device and now this insulated full length mattress. This is the most comfortable. The shorter is fine on the AT if you are trying to save weight and don't mind your legs resting on hard ground. The self-inflating is a little short on comfort for me.This mattress is thick, fairly wide and long, so it takes a lot of puffs to blow it up. So, I went with the recommended battery-operated pump. Very fast and saves a lot of work. And it helps deflate as well. This mattress sleeps very comfortable. I'm 5'-9" and weigh about 180 lbs. It is narrow but with some experience you get used to the width. It's fine. The thickness is great. No bottoming out for me even when sleeping on my side. You do need to keep a pretty firm pressure. At 5'-9" I have no problems with length. From reading the reviews, there seems to be a split on how much noise is created by this mattress. Particularly when rolling over. Like anything in life people have different expectations. Also under some conditions, the noise can seem worse - say a very quiet, wind free night. For me, I was expecting worse. This did not seem like crackling, cellophane. There was a wrinkling sound no doubt. But - for me - it is easy to live with.During my hike, it was mid-August with 70-degree day temps and mid to high 30's at night. So, the ground was nor frozen - probably in the 50's at the surface if I had to guess. So, in these conditions the mattress was plenty comfortable and warm. I didn't feel a drain on my body temperature.Therma-Rest mattresses have always been dependable for me. I don't backpack a lot, maybe one trip with multiple overnights per year over the past 10 years. And I use tents with floors which I try to keep very clean. So, the mattresses have been very well protected from punctures and wear. If I wanted to sleep under the stars or a tarp, I would use a ground cloth. This mattress uses thin lightweight fabric. The trade-off for the reduced weight is a more fragile construction. It is built for the person who is looking to save ounces and is used to being careful with all their gear. This is just one more piece. It's very comfortable, easy to use and very practical if used carefully. Recommended.

The best of the best
I did my research, and the NeoAir was always on top of the list. Once I pulled the trigger there was no looking back. It is the best pad I every have used in 30+ years of backpacking. Light weight for sure, almost feels too lightweight and thin, like it isn't rugged enough, but that isn't the case. It is tough, no problems with leaking or breaks. Nice thing is this new version is quiet when sleeping on it. It doesn't crinkle or creak when rolling around on it. Paired with a sleep system that has straps to connect the pad to the bag/quilt makes a difference. Buy the best!

My mat completely deflated!!
I bought this mat after lots of research, and hoping to use unit for a multi-day hiking trip. I tried it on my carpeted floor at home first, and it totally deflated overnight. I tried it again the next night, as I thought perhaps I hadn't tightened the wing valve properly. It totally deflated again!! The mat is completely useless to me, and my attempts to get a response from the manufacturers has led me up multiple dead ends. I'm so disappointed, and am hopeful that the manufacturers will read this message and contact me.

It kept me warm
It’s lightweight and easy to inflate. It kept me warm on a cold night. It is a little narrow though so my arms hung off the sides. This was a little uncomfortable, but I guess it’s a trade off given the light weight. Also, it was pretty quiet and a good value for backpacking.

Good and reliable
Despite being quite thin I haven't had issues with leaks. I'm glad I got the wide version because It's not even that wide, it feels like the size it should be. It kept me plenty warm with a quilt and was comfortable enough when inflated all the way. It seemed a bit difficult to get the air out at first but realized if you open the valve when you are packing up camp that it will deflate almost all the air on its own.

Excellent for lie-flat airline seats
My use case is somewhat atypical. I bought this to improve the experience of flying overseas in Business Class. The lie-flat seats that most airlines use are decent but not that comfortable (since the bed also needs to function as a seat). Some airlines do provide mattress pads but they only help a little. There are also travel mattress pads (specifically made for airplane seats), but they are bulky and heavy. This product is light and small enough to easily fit in a carry on (laptop bag in my case). The included inflation bag works very well. I am 6' 3" tall, but I bought the standard size as the footwells on many planes are pretty narrow. This really made a big difference on two recent flights. It's a bit pricey, but given what business class tickets cost, it's well worth the investment.
