I like the quality of the instructions. I did alter the dress (nightdress pattern shortened) so my granddaughter could change the outfit easily.

I have the original Luna Lapin book. It’s given me many hours of peace to sew Luna and her outfits and given many more hours of delight to my great-niece who treasures the end results. These are real heirloom pieces if made with quality materials and, while you don’t need to, you can go as far as employing couture techniques and finishes if you so desire. I was really pleased to be able to pre-order the second book, but slightly wary as I thought there might be a lot of repetition and that the quality may not be as good. This couldn’t have been further from the reality. This is another -if not even more- lovely book with lots of intricate and beautiful designs. The clothes are mini masterpieces and the variety of new animals inspirational. Having said that, this book would stand alone if you haven’t bought the first. It’s gorgeously illustrated, with plenty of guidance, instructions and helpful diagrams if you need them. I can’t complement enough the tasteful design and photos that have gone into making this book a pleasure to own and work from. You can really tell that hearts and souls have been poured into its production.

This is the second of a set of 3 books I have purchased the third arriving tomorrow. They make me want to give up work and just make these adorable animals. Full detailed instructions, pattern template, beautiful pictures and website for materials and kit. Also a story about the animals. As mentioned in a previous review I might purchase a kit for Luna and then be brave enough to do it on my own. My ultimate goal is to make these to sell for the charity I work for. How could anyone resist them?

what a wonderful book, full size patterns, easy to follow instructions and they look beautiful when made up

Easy to follow instructions. Some of the patterns aren't easy to trace as they run into the crease, but that's not a huge problem. Would be better if they folded out though. These lovely dolls make wonderful gifts or decorations for anyone of any age! It would be nice if a couple of knitting patterns were included, for jumpers and cardies, but you can purchase one or two from Sarah's website.
