Does not fit a normal sized horse.
If you have a large german shepherd or a small pony, this bag is excellent. If you have a normal sized horse (mine is 15 hands, quarter horse, sorrel, Annie), it isn't close to fitting across the back of the horse. Both bags wouldn't hang on the sides but would be banging up against your saddle, on the back (not side) of the horse. Goodness.

Better than expected
I hoped for a quality canvas saddlebag, but realistically did not expect this quality. I just got it. It won't get serious trail testing until this summer, but from everything I see this should have no trouble in the mountain back country. I'll be very surprised if it tears on the tree branches. It has the look and feel of a very good trail bag. More flexible than leather and yet much more durable and strong than the poly blends. I look forward to testing it this summer.
