Ok. So I know it's January but for Halloween the family always lets the kids pick what the group costume theme will be and all of August we decided to go with a Star Wars theme. So I went out and bought a really expensive lightsaber that in my opinion is absolutely amazing.. I mean it has a pixelated blade(whatever that means, I was told there were two kinds of ways they light up and the pixelated one was way more expensive but way better so I splurged and got it), makes the right sounds when it touches an object, it hums when it's on, it has a boat load of colors to choose from, but enough about mine, this is about the kids saber. Long story short, like kids do, they changed their mind at the last second and decided to go as Disney princesses and villains. Safe to say I was pissed. Excuse my language for anyone who is offended by that word I apologize but you drop $350 on a costume and a prop and then was told scratch that, we're going to do something different, you tend to not feel so great but hey I'm over it... Sort of. That brings me to this amazing little kids lightsaber. And I say little kids because it is extremely small for an adult so please don't buy this if you are a man child looking for a lightsaber for your LARP weekend outing. I bought this for my niece and surprised her with it out of the blue, because I'm the best Uncle ever and she loves it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles mine has but this thing was only $20 and I wouldn't expect it to but what it does do is, hums but on a repeated pattern. So it just plays the humming over and over again even when it touches something. She loves the humming aspect of it. Gives it a real feel to it. Also it has so many colors to choose from. She turns it rd when she wants to be DarkVader. I know it's Darth Vader but she thinks it is Dark Vader and she makes a good point, she told me because his suit is all black and he is apart of the "Dark side" why wouldn't his name be Dark Vader? I couldn't disagree with her logic, it was pretty sound so I don't correct her anymore. Lol. Anyway, back to the saber, another cool part about it is if you buy two, which I didn't but I probably will, you can connect them to make one big double sided saber. That's pretty cool. Another great thing they added in my purchase wasba single 18650 battery charger because it comes with an 18650 rechargeable battery so you don't have to keep putting in new batteries when it runs out of juice. You can just recharge the one that comes with it and no need to buy a charger because they provide one. Awesome that they did that. The blade is made of plastic so you can play rough with it and not worry about it breaking. Always a plus with anything you give to a 7 year old. And last but not least, the price. You can't beat the price at around 20$ with the quality of the sword plus the joy you will bring any child or man child when they see it, it's cliche but it is priceless. If you're looking for a budget friendly kids size lightsaber definitely give this one a shot. Trust me, I have my 7 year old Niece's stamp of approval. "May the force be with you!" This light saber is probably best for kids who want something better than a plastic toy and want to feel like they have a nice one like dad's lightsaber he paid over a hundred bucks for without breaking the bank for a toy that will probably get broken over time. Pretty solid weighty aluminium grip, changeable color blade with sound, i would say it is a great value for the money (especially when you know they are just going to beat the hell out of each other no matter what you say) they will have fun, you will save money. Kids will love the fact that it is their size, and you can be the baddy or the good guy just by changing the color of you blade. Makes sounds when you smash 'em together but it doesn't flash. It isn't an led strip inside the blade but rather like a strong flashlight shining up the tube. And it has kind of a weird slowly phasing out of the light when you hold the button down to turn it off. They probably won't notice that though. Kids should love it, the hilt will last but the blade may not lol. For 20 bucks you really can't go wrong

This is not like the ones I had as a kid. This one is made of metal so I expect it to hold up a while. My 4 year old loves it. I just like that it is rechargeable, and hopefully kid break proof. It is a lot smaller than your typical lightsaber toy as well, so that's something to note. It's also got sound effects that change as you go thru the different light modes. It has like 10 light variations.

This lightsaber is pretty cool. It lights up in many different colors, sounds like a real lightsaber, and when you hit something, it makes a sound. My kids are obsessed with it, and I will probably be purchasing two more so they can all join in on the fun. It has a rechargeable battery, which is nice, so you aren't always changing batteries, but it doesn't have a crazy long charge. It comes with a charging case for the rechargeable battery, so it is super easy to recharge and then keep having fun!

It didn't even work! It had a rattling piece in there. I was just to lazy to return it so money lost.

It was great a long time, but but I was playing outside with it, and somebody was pulling out, and it slipped out of my hand and got crushed by the car
