HiwowSport90Degree 4-Ply High Performance Elbow Coupler Silicone Hose for Auto (1.5"(38mm), Black)

Took my thermal imager and made sure exhaust was within acceptable temp range of the silicone elbow, cut down one leg to minimize bending stress got a chunk of 1in stainless pipe and clamped it together. Works 100% perfect keeps my genset cool (it lives in the bed of my truck) and exhaust gas out of the intake!

I have had this piece on my 86 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z for over 3 years and it appears to be holding up well to 15psi of boost. My only complaint was installing it on the intercooler pipe. I had to use some anti-seize to install it as it did not want to slide down over the metal pipe. You could use some oil or grease as well, but I felt that would make it too slick where it wouldn't hold and can actually dry up over time make the hose difficult to get off. I found anti-seize works well as it does not dry out, yet it not as slick as oil or grease is.

Perfect formakimg a 4" cold air intake that I simply can't buy anywhere....not made...i used the stock intake tube with vacuum ports and connectednthe end to the 90 degree elbow...clamped them together tight then I used a blinglights brand 4 inch universal intake which I had to insertnfrom underneath as the piping fits through the old airbox to resonator hole but the filter will not. Here are my before and after pix. Before I added the elbow the car was loud at idle with a constant hum. This fixed this.

This is a bit pricey at $13/ea. However it is of good quality and easy to trim, if needed. These reinforced silicone hoses have SO MANY applications outside of automotive, it is a shame it is only found in this category.

Installed on my tractor to redo the intake piping that failed after a decade of use. Perfect fit, although a little tight for 2" ID compared to the straight coupler. Overall it does what it is designed for.

Fit perfectly on my sr20det with no trimming. Needs very minimal trim on one end (turbo end) for perfect fit.

Needed this for filler tube on flat bed truck. Perfect size.
