SPARKWHIZ Weld-On 5/8" Spring Latch Assembly with Plain Tube, Trailer Gate Latch, Pack of 2

Bought these to secure things in the truck bed. Good size, sturdy, good locking mechanism, and value for the money.

Great latch for my smaller atv trailer, simple to weld on. Spring is strong so my son has to pull pretty strongly to get them to unlatch. They snap in place strong and dont rattle or have a ton of play in the mechanism. Definitely strong and beef enough that makes me trust them

These latches are great. I welded them on a back gate for a utility trailer sure beats fumbling around with pins. Great quality welded nice. Strong return spring too.

Ended up going a different route with my gate as I couldn’t make these work the way I wanted them too. I will say if you mount these directly onto something the handle could get in the way and you almost need to weld a spacer in between them. Also the little black cotter pin when you pull the pin in and out will hit whatever it’s welded too so I just grinder them down flush and it worked fine. Seem to be good quality and welded nice just went a different route.

This spring latch assembly works exactly as intended and has been holding my trailer gate more than secure, even with frequent daily use. Installation was straightforward and everything functions smoothly once in place. The only downside I’ve experienced is that the roll pin within the latch is a weak point. That part broke on one unit after only a couple months. Not hard to replace Overall, still a solid and reliable latch for the price, just something to be aware of regarding that internal pin.
