I'm not sure exactly how accurate this thermometer is because I don't have anything to compare it to - but I made candles for the first time recently and it was a success - I followed instructions very closely and used this thermometer to gage my temperature readings. It worked great. The clip slides up and down the thermometer so I was able to adjust it based on how deep my pot is.Worked great for me, as I'm sure it would for all but the professionals or folks who would use it constantly. For me I figure I'll do it a few times/year.-D

This thermometer works nicely with the 4 pound pouring pot. It's just the right length. I like that the clip has a heatproof ball so you don't burn yourself when removing it from the pot. Seems pretty sturdy - I've used it several times without any issues, and it seems to be very accurate.

I use this thermometer when I'm making bread. It works perfectly, haven't had any problems with it, easy to read the gauge and easy to clean.Update.....I dropped the thermometer on the counter and the tip broke. I ordered another thermometer from Amazon with a plastic cap to prevent that from happening again.

Incorrect labelling.. I have received a candy and deep fry thermometer... Disappointing from a self proclaimed candle making seller...
