A fantastic book! So much more than I thought it would be. Jim's vivid accounts of his connections with well- known personalities are fascinating. What I loved most are his insights - great life lessons here. Very well written and personal. He writes in a way that lets the reader feel and see each scene as it plays out. Inspiring and moving. What a great memoir! Thanks for sharing your story, Jim!

I am from Jim's hometown of Amarillo and went to high school with him. While I found his stories from his youth quite interesting and they brought back many memories, I was truly impressed and inspired by Jim's approach to his life and accomplishments in living his dreams. Jim describes a number of situations where one event, one person made a profound difference in the direction of his life. One door may close only to have another door open with even greater potential. I found these stories very interesting, but more importantly, they deliver some very important messages on success and happiness in life. Jim clearly achieved his success through perseverance and resourcefulness in capitalizing on his creativity and talent. But, in my view, the real key to success was his keen ability to connect with people, earning their respect, and living his life with unconditional gratitude. Well done, Jim. Congrats on the book and your success in life. Highly recommend your book.

The most entertaining, personal and inspiring memoir I think I’ve ever read. Jim writes like he plays his music: wonderfully, genuine and clearly from his heart. His story of building a relationship with his son is especially heartwarming. His great sense of humor runs throughout the book. He plays himself down, but there are obvious reasons other than tuning talent that drew famous and not so famous friends to him. Humor and authenticity being two of them.I’ll read Jim’s book again in a few years, as I do most of my favorite books. If there were an audiobook of Jim reading it I’d listen to it now. And I hope he continues to produce his beautiful music.

When I was recommended to read this book, I was initially skeptical - is it just another memoir? It turned out to be an engaging book, written well, and I was able to connect with many of the stories as I share similar musical tastes. So much for seven degrees of separation - I now have two to some great artists like Paul McCartney and Elton John. I think the concept of the power of one, that is the singular moments in your life that foreshadow the rest, is compelling. I can attest, as does Jim Wilson, that recognizing and acting on those moments is crucial to having a successful life. I highly recommend this book!

I have loved Jim's beautiful instrumental piano creations for many years, but now I have a new reason to appreciate his talents, as his writing in this book is so fun to read. He really helps the reader feel his true emotions as he interacted with so many famous musicians we have grown up with and admired. He honestly was just as amazed to be in their presence as anyone would be. He shares some hilarious stories, where the reader will just laugh out loud, but also shows his humility in being gifted with the opportunities he was given through his piano tuning craft. Is there anyone he didn't work for that I admired? Maybe! Being a huge Dan Fogelberg fan, I especially loved the skiing and sledding stories he experienced with Dan and shared in this memoir, along with humble stories of his road trip with Carole King, meeting Sir Paul, Elton, and so many others. Just fabulous! I passed it on to my son, who is a musician himself and am sure he will enjoy reading it as well. Thanks, Jim, for this great collection of stories and your lovely music!

Loved Jim’s book! The way this book is written and the very personal insight into his life makes it hard to put down.I attended high school with Jim, but barely knew him. Since reading his book, I feel like I’ve known him for years.It’s a great read. You won’t be disappointed.
