Must have accessory
This is certainly a tool for all hobby and fine crafts, very important to have with your rotary tool, however they should include the bits required along with, so you need to order the bits separately.

Transforms a Dremel into a mini router and opens up so many possibilities! Good value.
The media could not be loaded. I have been tinkering about in the garage during lock down and instead of the usual larger woodworking tasks I do, I have been messing about with craft projects. I have a full sized router permanently fixed to my work bench, but this is way too big for some of the things I have been making.I decided to try this Plunge Router Attachment to see if I could use it for some of the craft type projects I have planned. For the money, it was not a difficult decision to give it a try. I have included a video with a lot of information about the attachment and practical demonstrations. In the video I make a very simple picture frame with profiled edges and a rebate. I was impressed by the results. It is not as good as a dedicated router, but for the money it is a great way to get into routing. If you have never used a router before, prepare to transform your woodworking expectations. A router is a brilliant tool in so many ways. The attachment is not a precision instrument and has a few small issues, but it is more than capable of producing good results. If you can put up with me droning on during the video, it shows me making a small picture frame and I was impressed with the attachment. The wood I rout was used as a packing frame for a lawnmower and is very poor quality softwood. The Dremel did a fine job leaving good profiles without any real issues. The straight edge guide and circle cutting guide are good and I demonstrate these too. One thing that is not in the video and that I wished I had noticed when I was making it, was that one of the posts was loose out of the box. The posts are held in position with nuts on the base. A thread is tapped into the top of the post for a screw and washer that are used to capture the spring. I noticed that the screw and washer were loose and when I tightened the screw it began turning the post which in turn tightened the post into the nut. What a difference that made to the way the attachment felt and operated! You can kind of see the loose post in the video. It was much more precise after I did this, but even with the loose post it performed well. Dremel quality control should be picking these issues up.I think that this attachment is well worth the money. I use a very cheap set of router bits available on Amazon. I paid less than ten pounds for them. It is not worth buying expensive bits until you are certain that you will be using them regularly. If you are thinking about buying this attachment, I think it is well worth the investment. A a first step into the world of routing without too much outlay. If you enjoy woodwork, get it and give it a good try out, I can almost guarantee that it will leave you smiling!

underestimated gem.
I would like to say a big thank you to dremmel. This little beaut is well worth the money. I was however sceptical about its build yet I was very wrong in thinking it would be poor.First off remember its for a light weight tool and not a heavy weight, so all those negative reviews can be off putting as those customers wanted miracles, and expected outcomes of a more powerful designated tool. This dremmel is for precision on small to medium task projects Ie light weight inlay and modelling or whatever craft you do. I'm using the dremmel 4000 with it and I'm not disappointed at all. It has great litlr addons that have been well thought out as long as your mindful of its limitations this will serve you for a long time its very addictive once you start using it. Please read the tips in the manual as it sorts out many a problem with the use of bit and speed. You also have a great clear view of your project thanks to the clear plate. And its useful worth the depth adjuster although I do recommend making several passes on the job in hand at different depths this will make a nice finish plus it sorts the motor from burning out.Al in all its a great tool add-on and very useful. 10/10 dremmel

Inaccurate instrument
I bought this to use for small inlay work. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to accurately set the router depth with this instrument. The plunger only clamps to one side of the two pillars. The other side is pushed up by the spring so that it tilts, giving an inaccuracy of almost one millimetre. That may be ok for insetting hinges, but not for inlaying veneers. Dremel could easily make this perfect by allowing clamping on both sides.
