A garage door opener keypad, is simply a battery operated garage door opener with a 4-digit numeric PIN code. The keypad gets mounted outside your house for easy garage access when you are not inside your car. Most use a 9 volt battery for power and you must buy a keypad that is compatible with your garage door opener.You can mount the keypad anywhere within wireless range (about 120 feet) of your garage door opener and generally in a convenient location to access the keypad when you are working outside in the yard. Often times that is on the frame of the overhead garage door. I suggest you program the keypad first before mounting it. Liftmaster and Chamberlain are now the same company and they made most of the Craftsman openers so they share in the same technology.My opener at this location is an older Sears Craftsman 41AC150-2M installed about 18 years ago with a Purple Learn button (315 MHz using Security+ Rolling Code technology). This is for a 2 car garage attached to our house. Programming was easy by just following the instructions printed inside the keypad cover. It works great and I'll never be locked out of my house again!I mounted it on the left side of the door frame at just over 5 feet off the ground. I chose that side since we are all right handed.I gave this a 4 star rating (instead of 5) because it arrived with a dead New Leader brand 9 volt battery. I replaced it with a new Energizer Max 9 volt battery and then everything worked as expected.

This works great with my Liftmaster jackshaft opener. It's fairly close to the opener, so I can't attest for its transmitting distance, but it works each and every time I use it. It has had to endure some pretty wet weather lately and it's still going strong. Great price, great product so far.

This was exactly what I wanted and needed. I recently moved and now I have a garage so naturally, this was a must have. This works with my garage door system perfectly. I have a back up available to me if and when needed which is convenient to me and anyone I would want to allow access to. Very easy to set up, very easy to install! I looked at a bunch of options that claimed compatability and my dad helped me choose this one. Very pleased!

The remote works with our garage door opener as it should. I like that it beeps when you press the buttons as our original did not and you couldn’t tell if buttons worked and had to mash them. These are easier to press. The short comings are the directions are not accurate. The hole size needed for the smaller screw is not accurate. When drilling into aluminum I got the hole size pretty close, but the screw snapped when threading in. I purchased a new screen from the hardware store and it threaded fine. Used a 4x stainless steel sheet metal screw.

I was a little skeptical about this one because it was so cheap, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. It's not cheaply made and feels very solid. It mounts easily with two screws that are included, and programming it took literally less than one minute. I love it.

This Universal Garage Door Opener was compatible with our Chamberlin brand unit it was replacing….until it wasn’t. The installation was easier than anticipated and programming and pairing were accomplished with limited issues. However, when the codes were cleared to reprogram, have not been able to get it working again. I’m going to give this the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to some form of user error based on its initial spurt of functionality. I’ll return and update review if it becomes either operational or uninstalled.

I purchased this remote to replace the original one that came with my Chamberlain garage door opener. After nine years of reliable service, the original remote ceased to function. I was pleased that my control unit (with a purple learn button) was perfectly compatible with this replacement.Upon receiving the remote, I found it virtually indistinguishable from the original. The dimensions, mounting holes, and programming instructions were identical. I was able to reprogram the remote on the first attempt.This remote gets two thumbs up from me. I expect other buyers will have a favorable experience.
