Experienced an uncommon reaction
I’ve ordered several products from Premier Research Labs that were great, and since I take magnesium glycinate as part of my bedtime routine, I was stoked to try out their offering when I got the chance.Unfortunately, both myself and a family member experienced respiratory depression from the magnesium glycinate active ingredient in this product. I’ve never encountered this sort of negative side effect from any other product of theirs, nor any magnesium glycinate product from other manufacturers.I’m not seeing any mention of problems in other reviews, so there’s something about the particular magnesium glycinate in this product that doesn’t work with my genetics, I guess. But despite the other, almost uniformly positive factors in its favor, the bottom line is that I personally experienced non-trivial side effects that rose to the level of preventing me from continuing to use this product.Otherwise, everything about this product out of the box was as I had come to expect from this brand - hypromellose capsules, minimal fillers, and the usual litany of certifications, attestations, and third-party testing. They’re a US-based small business doing all the right things that a supplement company should, and I’m happy to see them succeed. I just hope it’s understandable that as much as I’d like to, I can’t ignore the issues I had with this particular product.
