This review has been written before introducing a hamster to the cage. Having built the cage I'd like to say that the space is awesome, a great hamster pad with plenty of unbroken floor space. It takes around 15 minutes to assemble and I managed to do this alone however it's clear its made from robust parts. As been said, the wheel is too small for a Syrian. Also the plastic food tray and house may get nibbled so I've provided natural items instead and kept these as spares. So far so good, a great piece of kit.Updated: hamster now living happily with huge floor space meaning lots of exercise opportunity and toys. The locking mechanism is secure and the plastic base is deep and detaches for easy cleaning. The deep base means the hamster has lovely deep bedding, loads of toys and even a litter potty that he’s using. The plastic ledge is also easy to clean and in the end I kept the blue plastic house and placed it on there with the food bowl. He loves this house and drags bedding in. The water bottle leaks from the spout a little after use but it’s not excessive. In summary a fantastic cage.

Really love that the roof of the cage opens up for super easy cleaning and best of all really easy to play and give treats to your hamster by hand!I was scared from some of the reviews which said you can get a broken cage and have to get a new one sent out etc but ours was almost perfect. Just had a tiny problem with one of the latches which wouldn’t clip shut. But I bent the latch a tiny bit and that fixed the problem.Really happy with the size and build quality. The water bottle isn’t the best but we have ordered a new one.

Really wanted to give this cage 5 stars. The actual cage itself does deserve 5 but unfortunately the ladders are flimsy and one of the hooks broke off of the top ladder. Contacted the seller who got back to me quickly but told me they don't stock spare parts so can't replace the ladder and to contact Ferplast which I did and they told me they wouldn't replace it but I could buy one for £5 ! They are exactly the same type of ladder so gave up ,put the bottom ladder at the top and put our hamsters' adventure climber next to the bottom platform. The actual cage itself is faultless. It's way bigger than you think and has so much space for everything a syrian needs with extra room for running around and burrowing. The wheel is not suitable for syrians as it's tiny but there is lot's of space for a big wheel. Instructions are pretty clear there's enough there to work out how to put it together and it doesn't take too long really. Tubes can be bought and added on if you wish as there are two tube holes at the top and bottom which are plugged. Cage feels very sturdy and is made of strong plastic and metal. Was slightly concerned about the cage door ,which is the whole top of the cage, as there are no clips on the sides and it seems slightly gappy but our little escape artist hasn't managed to get through. The whole top opens up so you have great access to everything. Would advise leaning the top against a wall etc as I'm pretty sure if you let it lean right back the clips would snap. Our Syrian is extremely happy in this cage I would deffinately recommend it but maybe replace the ladders with stronger ones if you can find some to fit.

Finally, I found a cage that's big enough for my Syrian hamster, most cages on the market are much too small but this one is great and allows more natural behaviour (and no more bar chewing). She has lots of room to explore and the tray is deep enough to have lots of substrate for her to burrow into. The top opening makes it much easier to spot clean daily without having to take the cage apart and the whole thing is very sturdy. The only thing I didn't like was the ramps, one of them was broken so unusable from the start but I didn't bother to get a replacement as they are quite flimsy compared to everything else and bend under the weight of my hamster so I bought some sturdier replacements. Very pleased with this cage overall 😁

Bought this as a temporary cage for my hamster when i need to bring him home with me. It arrived with some of the plastic broken from transit somehow so i would have to say that the material is not the best so if my hamster was a chewer i would have been concerned. The cage still functions however and i have received a partial refund so it is not a massive problem for me. Bare in mind the cage itself is just below the minimum cage size required so it is not suitable as a full time home.

This is a great cage for a hamster. It's very secure and sturdy, as the corners are reinforced with struts. The lid opens so it's super easy to access inside for cleaning and tidying and interacting with your pet.The shelves are very sturdy and you can fit them at any which way you like. The base is really deep so good for using with deep substrate, that hamsters need.The only negatives are the house and wheel included are far far too small for a Syrian hamster, and the plastic ramps were a bit flimsy - but there are easy to replace with your own preferences.I love this cage.

After 6 months I am still very happy. The cage is a good size with a very good locking lid and water bottle. The wheel that comes with it is too small for a syrian hamster and incredibly noisy in use - I recommend the Silent Runner 22cm wheel (better size and much quieter, though not silent). Also the ladder broke within days, but our hamster climbs up using the bars and jumps down without any issues (even did this when the ladder was there!). None of these points would stop me giving this 5 stars as it is so much better than the completely plastic alternative cages on offer.

The cage is perfect in theory, but the base is broken, making it unsafe. Amazon mentione "cosmetic damages on accessories", not that it was broken! And now, if I want a refund, I am supposed to take this huge package to a parcelshop a mile away from my house, although I don't have a car. What a disgrace.
