Beverly Hills Cop Trilogy: The Complete Line Up (3 Disc Box Set) [1984] [DVD]

Not only is this DVD set a must have for Eddie Murphy fans, it it also an essential buy for fans of both comedy and action films! Although there are perhaps films more funny or with more action then these, there are few that have managed to blend the two together so well. In terms of comedy, the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy shows Murphy at his finest. Comedy highlights include the hilarious and clever way in which he cons his way into a top hotel in the first film and how he manages to 'steal' a whole house to stay in during the second film. The action is both fast paced and funny as the classic car chase scenes in the first two are improved by music from the Pointer Sisters and by Murphy's comments and facial expressions in the second and third films. All three films are superb, although possibly the third film is weakest in terms of plot, but it does contain some of the funniest scenes such as when Murphy attempts to make the intercom work at the police station and ends up leaving his car at the entrance. All three films are made better by the great soundtracks that acompany them(i've got the first two) and songs such as 'Shakedown' and 'Stir it Up' keep the fast pace of the film going and of course 'Axel F' is one of the most popular tracks from a movie of all time! With the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy, Murphy has without a doubt created one of my favourite movie characters of all time, Axel Foley I love you!

I picked these up for £5 which adds to the star rating for me. The BC1 being the best and worth £5 on it's own. The remaining 2 films I see as 2 free films in the pack! The BC2 was OK and enjoyable, BC3 you watch because you feel you have to, but prepare to groan a little. BC1 is the film that put Eddie Murphy on my map I just loved it, great music, great storyline and just good fun. Axel F character is just infectious and such a bad influence on by-the-book cops. I don't think this film has aged, whereas BC3 is not holding well, but not so bad that you feel you wasted time watching it. Blu-Ray quality is very good considering the age of the films. Audio is just as good and seems balanced, I just love the 2 Patti Labelle tracks on the first film. If you are a fan of 80s films, this is definitely one to get, but I wouldn't be spending much more than about £8 for the set.

Beverly Hills cop. Disc is very good, has a commentary track from the director which is a nice addition sound and picture quality are very good. Beverly Hills cop 2 Disc is, well somewhat disappointing after watching the first outing, film is good enough, picture and sound are very good however this is a bare bones edition of a film which would have benefitted GREATLY by a'Directors' commentary' shame. Beverly Hills cop 3. Well, least favourite for me personally if I'm honest, I haven't watched it yet so I cant gove an opinion about the disc.

Set of the 3 BH Cop films on Blu-ray. BH Cop- excellent film throughout and very funny in parts. BHC2 not as good as the first installment, but still some funny moments. BHC3 - avoid, total rubbish. Overall worth the price for the first two films, classics!

These films are fantastic. Really enjoyed the first 2 and found the third went down more of a comedy line which let the film down a little. But none the less, it’s a collection I wanted. They have come out on bluray really well, sound quality is good also. Can’t fault this set, great value for money and all 3 movies come in one single bluray case which is great for shelf space. Recommend this film to anyone who enjoys action and comedy.

This was a gift for hubby but we both enjoyed watching all 3 films. Good extra features, including who was going to be cast before Eddie Murphy was made the lead and how different the movie could have been if the original actor stayed. Quality is excellent and the cases were nice and presented well. Sound and vision experience was fab! Took me right back to my younger years when it was released. Fun films!

i watched the first one on tv and was amazed at how funny a film it was. so good aswel. so i assuming all would be just as great went out and bought this. now it all arrived on time and in perfect condition but i wouldnt recomment these dvds because their so rubbish. not funny at all and the story lines drag and become boring. ADVICE: just buy b.h.c 1! , 1 dvd great dvd, cheaper and then you wont be dissapointed of having 2 new dvds that are just rubbish and cant compare to the first one, i just think they out did themselves making the first one so to try and make the other 2 as good, it was just a let down as it just wasnt possible sadly.

J ai acheté se blu ray car maintenant j ai laissé tomber les DVD car le blu ray nous donne une meilleure qualité d image et une meilleure qualité de son que le DVD n a pas C est vraiment un super coffret moi je vous le recommande pour son achat Surtout à Eddie Murphy vous allez avoir beaucoup d éclat de rire Bon film à tous
