Fiskars Contemporary Paper Edgers Scissors Set (12-93017897)

Not sure why so many bad reviews. The photo shows all scissors used on the cream paper that is 300GSM. It cut beautifully. The middle dark one is a thinner paper like copy paper. My review is this 1. These are technically children’s scissors hence the size, so yeah they may hurt if you are cutting a lot of paper. 2. They are NOT designed to cut through THICK paper as shown in one review. So doing so is not well thought out. 3. For the money these are spot on. I have paid more for one pair that cut not as well as these do. So just do your research first before you try and use them for what they are NOT intended for. Remember children crafts are not grownup crafts with multiple types of material we use. Be smarter and stop leaving undeserved bad reviews. If you have a faulty pair then return them. But is they don’t work for what you thought they are actually intended for then return them.

I'm an artist who works with paper. I use scrapbooking scissors A LOT, and I'm not always super gentle with them. When my favorite pair broke, I tried to replace them with a different brand. No such luck. They hurt my hands, and the cuts were sloppy and mushy. They basically chewed up the paper. So I ordered this set and I couldn't be happier. The variety in the pack is great, and Fiskars is unbeatable. The handles are comfortable for prolonged periods of cutting paper, and the cuts are always very precise and on point. I will never use another brand, as this is a superior product. Nothing else compares!

I am so sad as I have a decades old pair of decorative Fiskars which work great. Was very excited to get these. Holy quality control or endless profiteering! One pair, you open to use & they get stuck in the open position. Another pair literally shredded the edges of my photo!!! Not happy!! What a waste of time and money. And how sad since so many Fiskar items are very good.

I bought these because every morning for school I cut out jokes or notes and put them in my daughter’s lunch. She loves all of the fun notes with different edges. Two of the scissors are very hard to open and close so I don’t use those but overall a good buy.

The media could not be loaded. These scissors are plastic with sheet metal. They ripe the paper more than cut. Also as seen in the video, the blades get caught in the decorative cuts and will not close. If you are careful and able to make sure you are not putting pressure anywhere but exactly in the middle they will not catch on each other. However, this is hard to do because you need to use extra force in order for them to cut.They are really tiny and hurt adult hands to use. Just from using them for the 8 second video, I had an indentation in my ring finger.Some of the scissors designs are worst than other. They ones with uniformed cuts (pinking and stamp) work okay. They rest are useless.

...but they suffer from the same problems as the cheapy ones from the dollar store. They are difficult to use. Every pair is stiff and the shaped blades do not want to cross past each other. They often become jammed and have to literally be prised apart before you can resume cutting. They are not sharp at all. Most of the blades tear the paper rather than cut it. There are a few tricks you can use to get the most out of these scissors. If you layer the thing you want cut over a piece of scrap paper, you can sometimes get a cleaner cut. If you cut very slowly and precisely, you can sometimes get a cleaner cut. None of the tricks I've used before with scissors, like cutting aluminum foil to sharpen them, or very lightly oiling them with 3 in 1 oil, works to make these better. Honestly I don't know if it is just because they are shaped scissors or if it is that these in particular are just not very good, but either way I can't recommend them.

There are so many different edges for crafting, cropping stationary or pictures, or whatever you have in mind. And I could let the kids sit and work with them because they aren’t dangerously sharp for them.

I hesitated to purchase any paper edger scissors because of the reviews, yet, of course I chanced it. One reason is Fiskars lifetime warranty on their products. I found that in using these edgers you cannot expect them to cut like regular cloth or paper shears. They perform more like punches. Alignment is important. Also, cut small portions at a time. The smaller the perimeter, the neater and easier they are to use. Practice on scrap paper. The thinner the paper the better. Think in terms of using a small punch.

I haven’t used them yet but am thinking of purchasing another set for granddaughter. She loves to make cards etc.

War entsetzt über den Zustand der Scheren. Angeblich nur der Karton defekt. Aber von 6 Scheren waren es 3 Stück die klemmen bzw hängen. Die nächste hat nicht die exakte Form geschnitten die aufgedruckt war und der Rest nicht besonders. Habe viele entsorgt und es auch reklamiert….
