All I could have hoped for...
Sara unfolds like a Criminal Minds episode…a young college girl, a small town, a flat tire, a corrupt and dangerous police chief, a dad looking…I was drawn in so quickly, with shivers running up and down my spine, rapidly turning pages…At 20% my fears ramped up, the tension and pacing was off the charts and I couldn’t read fast enough. I could see this really happening, the events and characters could be real, the writing made the story come to life.I found myself checking how much of the book was left because I had a really bad feeling…I love this quote: “…we concentrate on finding the bad guys after the fact to ensure the cycle is broken.”As the pieces came together, I knew my spidey senses hadn’t failed me, but I didn’t realize how bad these monsters were…and how many there were in one small town.Tony Hayden took a twist I didn’t see coming and I love when an author can spin a twist to a story that I have read over and over…missing girl…in the woods…and make me unable to put the book down until I found all the answers.I had two problems, which I won’t detail, one with the dad and one with Sara, but it kept the story going to the place Tony Hayden wanted it to be. That happens to me a lot in suspense novels, and I totally understand why it has to go that way. And, who knows how people will react until they are put in that position. Still, it kept nagging me, so a solid four stars it is.

I couldn't stop reading
This is a tragic and sad story that I'm sure actually occurs somewhere in this world. I was "fondled" by a "Christian" friend of my parents. I never told them but I never stayed at our house when he was there. 😞

Terrifyingly brilliant
A terrifying opening to a novel will always get me in and "Sara" is no exception. The plot is simple - a young woman goes missing from her car outside a small rural town and her father comes to look for her. From the first moment the reader is privy to Sara's fate and the tension never eases. The characters of Sara and her father are totally believable, which invites the reader to invest care in the outcome of their futures. We share the frustration of Sara's father, Mike, as he is stymied at every turn, harassed, beaten up and had a shotgun pulled on him because he is trying to find his daughter and well aware that he is being diverted from the truth. Sara's mother, Jean, needed a good boot up the bum, which I for one would have been happy to give her.The fast-pace and tight plot had me actually in a state of fear, skimming pages sometimes, not there was anything amiss with them, but because I HAD to find out what happened and fast. The twisted ending was totally unexpected and very, very satisfying. Brilliant read, well done Tony Hayden. I hope you have written more novels!

Sara
Sara is an amazing book! Once I started reading it I could not put it down!! It kept me on the edge of my seat from page 1, and I just had to keep reading to see what happened next. Sara had so much courage and had such a will to live! And all the skills she kept reflecting back on that her father had taught her that she used to her advantage to try and help her survive.....Awesome!! Also, the love and determination her father showed to try to find his daughter was so heartwarming. Tony Hayden has amazing talent at taking a story and writing a book of it, and making it seem so real that you feel like you are actually living it and that the people are your friends and family. I absolutey love it!! I have read his first two books and hope he continues !!

Fast, engrossing read!
This crime suspense story captivated me from the first page. Although I don't care for graphic violence, the abduction scene was not gratuitous. It was horrifying and realistic. That's what drew me in. I immediately cared about Sara and wanted to know what would happen to her. The author paints descriptive scenes of the beautiful setting, which stands in contrast to the ugly human behavior. The story never gets bogged down in detail, but moves along quickly. I read this in one sitting. Like other reviewers stated, I did not want to put it down. I will be looking for other books by this author.

road trip gone wrong
Sara was heading for her first year at college in Wyoming. When she istaken by a father and son team, attacked and raped, and buried in ashallow grave. What happens next is a tale of survival as both Sara andher father Mike as he works with police and Sara tries to get back homeas they try to find their way back to each other. A bit disturbing and hassome graphic violence.

Edge of your seat, or book perhaps...
Excellent read. If you love "edge of your seat", thrilling, and dramatic reading then you will love this book. The book draws you in within the first chapter and good luck putting it down after that. I was so captivated by the characters and the story that I just had to know what happened. Hayden does an amazing job of making you feel so in tune with the characters because they are just so realistic. From start to finish I was so captivated and immersed in the book that I read it all in one sitting.

Sara by Tony Hayden
I really really liked this book. It got me within the first couple of pages and I could not put it down. It kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. I coudnt wait to find out how it all came out. Tony Hayden left the door open for another book and I cant wait to read it too. I bought his first two books and just started the first one. Cant wait for the weekend so I can read them both. I will be watching and waiting for more.

A surprise!
This story of a missing girl and her father's search for her took me by surprise. I was expecting something run of the mill and instead found a book with some surprising moral complexities, interesting characterisation, and realistic outcomes. It was also well plotted and I couldn't put it down! The tension draws tighter right up to the last page - which has led to a sleepless night, as I just had to get it finished.Highly recommended.

A shocking but excellent read!
When I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down. As a parent I could empathise with Mike and Jean. Also as a female I could empathise with Sara! I willed Mike on in his search for his daughter and felt disgust for the men involved in her disappearance, especially Pop! A shocking but excellent read, with a sad ending!!
