The dog is happy to be in the car without help....BUT beware
My dog is around 13 years old and recently she has had a really hard time getting in my SUV. We have a truck and she is good at using the 2x10 ramp my husband made for her to get in and out of the truck. That board is cut to fit in the bed of the truck is not something I can use with the SUV. The good about this ramp is it is lightweight. It folds up easy. It seems to be sturdy. However, pictured above is the ramp on the bumper of my stock 2007 Ford Escape and it is too steep for my old dog to climb. Thank goodness she's an old hiking dog and has very tough pads because like others have said the surface of the ramp is like sandpaper. In the pictures you can see the scratch marks from my dogs nails as she attempted to climb the ramp. Good news is I have a tow hitch (after market) which the ramp seems to rest on just enough to be sturdy. Overall review if I did not have the hitch I would be returning the ramp. If you have a tall SUV like an Escape or Xterra this ramp will be steep when rested on the bumper.

Durable but doesn't feel secure
I have two English Bulldogs, one a little over 70 pounds, the other almost 60 pounds. I don't mind lifting them into the back of my SUV but they didn't seem to like it, little legs kicking everywhere. So I decided to get them a ramp!Pros:It is very light, it actually looks heavier than it is.So far the ramp seems pretty durable. It is easy to get in and out of the car. After coaxing the dogs to go up and down it, they use it without any problemsCons:It doesn't feel like it secures well to the vehicle, kind of like it could slip off, it hasn't yet, but it feels like it could slip. The runway on it is very coarse, I'm afraid this could scrap the bottom of my pups feet, I am going to keep an eye on them and if it does I will edit this post.It takes up a bit of room in the back of the SUV, any kind of ramp may but this one definitely does.Overall it's a good ramp and does what its supposed too. I have no others to compare it to but it seems like for the price it is a decent ramp.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.
Nothing bad to say about this ramp. With my golden labrador’s bad hips, I thought this would be perfect to transport her. My problems would be solved and she would not be stressed being loaded into the car. I just wish my dog would go on it. Maybe if it was designed a little wider.

I expected BETTER quality, for this price
My 80 lb pit bull mix will be 11 years old. He sometimes struggles getting into my SUV, and is hesitant when getting out. I fear that he'll hurt himself, so I knew it was time to get him a ramp. I researched a variety of models, focusing on length, width, ease of handling, durability and SAFETY. I knew that anything with steps would make him nervous, so a simple, folding ramp is what I wanted. When this ramp arrived, the box was quite beat up. I was surprised how lightweight it was. However, it is quite awkward to handle. There are no handles along the sides to hold onto when carrying it. There is only 1 hook on 1 side to keep it folded & secure when handling it. The surface of the ramp is quite abrasive so that the paws don't slip. HOWEVER, it is so abrasive, you don't want it rubbing against any clothing made of nylon, because it will snag it … Having handles to make carrying it easier would greatly help this situation. About the WIDTH. This one is 16", which was necessary because my dog is beefy & nervous. However, it was near impossible to safely set up the ramp on my back seat because the doors don't open wide enough so that the ramp sits flat on the seat. Sherman got nervous and wouldn't even try to use it. So, we use the ramp on the front seat, with some treats to coax him until he gets used to it. I have yet to try having him use the ramp to enter the back hatch, because I usually have some type of cargo.. but that's probably an easy option to consider.

Works Great - Love That It Folds For Storage
We purchased this for our Boston Terrier with hip problems and she took to it well. Sturdy, well built and it is very handy that it folds for storage. The textured ramp is helpful. We shopped around (online and in stores) and found this to be the best well made and value for price product. We're pleased and would recommend to friends. I would take a picture and add it to my review but it conveniently stored right now : )

Non-skid insufficient
The ramp is very light and easier to use than any ramp we’ve had. Our Golden Retrievers had no trouble adjusting to the ramp when they practiced on the ground. Unfortunately we will need to add carpet strips or something to help them. Both of them slipped while trying to walk up the ramp into the car.

Great Ramp.
This Ramp works great. It is sturdy, but lightweight and came all set up. No putting anything together. My dog was beginning to have a hard time jumping into or out of my truck, and I was afraid that her joints were getting damaged. This ramp is just what we needed.

Be careful
My dog first went up scratching her way up & sliding off till she pull her muscle trying her best to get up ramp & in truck. Coming down was a breeze. The sandpaper like material is good for paws coming down but not the toe nails going up. I had to cut boards & noodles for cushion. This works so much better. I still hold ramp to keep in in place when dog uses it.
