Works great. Very sturdy. Looks nice

It does not auto lock. Once you put in the code it just stays unlocked. And you have to manually re lock it EVERY TIME! IF you forget to relock immediately after opening the door once, your door remains unlocked. WTF is the point of a lock that permanently stays unlocked. DO NOT BUY.

Love this lock but it comes with a little learning curve. They have to ensure the locking mechanism is fully engaged before trying to unlock, then they have to fully depress all the right numbers without accidentally touching the wrong ones or they have to reset it. All of which is easy to do but if they don't understand how to use it they complain. I'm happy I don't have to worry about replacing batteries. It's well built with quality materials. Would buy again.

Better than expected

The back panel that snaps in to the unit to rest on the door was a nightmare to get on. Set up seemed easy to understand. I didn't like that I had to choose such a long password. I'd prefer a four digit so it's easier for my kids to remember. It lasted about two weeks before I son slammed the dog and the code didn't work to unlock the door anymore. Tried resetting it and had no luck so had to swap it out. The price is great in comparison to the bigger brands. I'd recommend it but be careful to not shut the door so hard.

Now, no worries about low batteries and getting locked out. Nicely made. Heavy duty feeling.

6-8 months and breaks off

I have rental properties in Minnesota, so I've been buying a lot of the elemake mechanic locks for my units since a lot of battery powered locks don't work when it gets too cold out. I only had this lock about two months and the handle broke off. It's made of a weak thin metal. I'm disappointed. I was already past the return window, so customer service wouldn't help me despite the fact that I've spent thousands of dollars on their locks. The only reason I reordered this same lock is because I already made all the extra holes on my door that this lock requires. So I don't wanna put a regular lock on now and have those ugly holes expose.
