Ontario Rat II Folder Coyote Brown

This knife is excellent in almost every way. The right size, great action, good design, sharp and holds an edge pretty well. My only complaint is the pocket clip. It should allow for deeper carry in the pocket. About 3/4 of an inch stick out of the pocket with this clip. Still, I highly recommend this knife.

I have the Rat 1 and can't say enough compliments about it. Decided to buy the smaller Rat 2 because of the AUS8 STEEL. I can sharpen these Ontario knives better than any other AUS8 STEEL. Ontario steel is better. The total design, materials and craftsmanship in the Rat 1 & 2 is way beyond the cost. My EDC IS A RAT.

Great knife but not the one I was expecting, FYI its the smaller version of the knife I really wanted

I ordered 2 identical knives to give to some friends. Both boxes looked like they had been opened before on the end opposite the bar code, one was even torn some. One knife had a giant thumbprint on the blade near the thumb stud, right where your thumb might hit opening it. Not sure why they were that way, can only guess maybe they’d been returned. That said, I inspected them pretty carefully and found no signs they’d actually been used, and the knives themselves were in fine shape. If I had planned to wrap these up as gifts, I wouldn’t be very happy with things, but I’m just handing them over as-is so they should be fine. Bottom line is fine product, uncertain history.

EDIT 12/9/17This knife is pretty much my exclusive edc now. It is the AK47 of pocket knives; extremely easy to maintain (sharpen), works every time without question, and is CHEAP for the quality you get. It's also very light. I use my knife a good amount and I touch it up once, maybe twice a week. When I say touch up, I mean a few (3-4 per side) strokes on a fine stone and a swipe or two on a strop and it's back to razor sharp. I have even used my leather belt to realign the edge like a strop. This is a little subjective I guess, but I prefer a more malleable steel like AUS-8 every day--for my needs at least. It will not chip as readily when I abuse it. For example, I stripped insulation off copper wire with it and the edge came back no problem. The flipside of that is that it requires frequent sharpening. I have found if you touch up the blade for a couple minutes once or twice a week then it's fine. If you use the knife all day every day then it will be dull on you in no time. In that case you should be carrying a box cutter at work lol. 35 bucks man, can't beat it.---END EDIT----I like it a lot for the money. Darn good knife for $35 bucks. I'm a collector and this will see less work than my work knife admittedly. However it's going to be a great knife. I plan on fishing with it etc.

love this knife i’ve had it for over a year with no issues, easy to take apart and clean. blade came centered and shaving sharp! for the price you really can’t find anything better. if you’re on the fence just go for it!

In my opinion you can’t go wrong with one of these whether it’s the RAT 1or the RAT 2. Great just every day carry knives

This is my5th knife my family always wants mine. My wife carries one. Buy it because it is a great knife and the price won’t break the bank. Don’t show it to anyone or they will want it. As a matter of fact my son is a detective. He laid it down on a table in the patrol room and walked away. He came back a couple of minutes later and the knife was gone. Yep you got it stolen by a cop. The coyote brown with the black coating is a stunning knife. I removed some pipe insulation around my HVA pipes in my basement. The insulation had been sort of backed on the pipes for along time. That knife removed ALL the insulation that had to be cut off. I cleaned it and stroped it good as new.
