Silver Brush Limited3012S-1/4 Black Velvet Dagger Striper Paintbrush for Watercolor, Gouache, Inks, & Dyes, Size 1/4 Inch, Short Handle

I have several Silver Black Velvet brushes that I use regularly for watercolor. I have many brands of watercolor brushes. Silver is my favorite and I've never been disappointed. This is a gorgeously soft and absorbent well shaped brush. I do wish sellers would be better about listing bristle length though. I don't paint large at this stage of my painting journey. Even though the brush is beautiful, I didn't expect the bristles of this 3/8" dagger striper to be 1 & 5/8" long. It behaves more like a mop because of the long length and the soft supple bristles. I have other brands of dagger stripers in 1/4" size and the bristles aren't even close to this length. I purchased this to paint leaves and flowers. This won't work unless I'm going to paint very large flowers. Even though I am familiar with how to use a dagger brush there is going to be huge a learning curve for this particular brush if I can even use it for the size paintings I usually do. Not sure if I can return or exchange it since it's been used. I think this is going sit in my brush cup unused, a sad waist of my precious art money that could have been used on something else. I still gave 5 stars because it is a gorgeous top quality brush, just not what I was expecting.

Quality in control and performance and lasts a very long time. Actually rivals pure bristle at lower price. So pleased.

It seems like a nice brush. I just have to learn how to use it well.

I was disappointed. The brush doesn't hold a point, the "hairs" seemed frayed even with water and paint. Maybe it's just this one brush.

If you are new to watercolour or haven’t tried this line of brush, do yourself a favour and try them. They are wonderfully soft, and will give you the finest, danciest lines. Simply a joy to use. Check out the online reviews. Mind of Watercolour swears by them, and for good reason.

Très déçue. Vu le prix et la marque je m'attendais au tip top, je ne comprends pas. Plusieurs mois plus tard il perd encore ses poils... :(
