2 Amps is the way to go.
This is a replacement for a power cable that died. The two amp is definitely what you want to get to power most things. This works well for my security cameras in my external hard disk.

perfect for my need.
I bought some plant lights last year, which were in 2 pieces - the light and a power adapter. This year, when I got them out to start my seed flats, they didn't work. A bit of experimenting, and I realized the LED lights were fine but the adapter had gone bad. This works perfectly, and cost $7 instead of $30 for a whole new set.
