Bought this because of the illuminated dial. This is very dim and cannot be read from across the room. Returning.

Presentime & Co. 8.5" Modern Farmhouse Night Light Wall ClockThe clock face and numbers are a little smaller than my good old standard WalMart $3 clock which I've had on my bedroom wall for about 8 years. The numbers on the new clock are thinner, less bold than I'm used to. I like my thick, chunky, more visible numbers better.I was a little taken aback to see that I needed to use three AA batteries for this simple looking wall clock. THREE?! Fortunately I discovered a couple of my 12 packs of sale batteries and three AAs didn't seem like such overkill once I had plenty to spare.I put in the 1st battery and that runs the clock hands.The clock's second hand does a smooth sweep that is nice. My old clock does that click pause, click pause from second to second. I never realized that's annoying until I saw the smooth sweep action on the new clock's second hand.I inserted the two batteries that run the night light sensor and the LED lightup. Turned the switch on the back to ON. Nothing happened.I put myself and the clock under the bed quilt for darkness. Got an instant blinding eyebeam ffrom a tiny, but powerful little light emanating from a tiny slot on the rim under the number 5. OK...the sensor that detects darkness definitely works.I found two identical light slots at the 9 and at the 1 on the clock, but no light comes out of them. It seems like it would be way too bright if they lit up like the 5 slot does.I changed the batteries to see if that caused the other two light squares to function. Nothing. Maybe they only work in really pitch dark? I'll find out tonight. Or maybe they are defective?Not sure, but the light from number five lights the rest of the clock enough to see it. It is eye jarring because the concentrated beam of light from beneath the number 5 is stabbing.UPDATE. I took the clock into a darkened room and it responds with insta-light from the slot at number 5. I can see the entire clock face as it's lit with reflected light from 5.I could not get a proper photo. My phone flash responds every time in the dark room and the clock sensor turns off the clock light instantly each time as my phone flash adjusts. All I get is the unlit clock face.

Arrived on time and an excellent condition.Perfect size for wall mount.LED light makes it easy to read.

Clock is not illuminated! Has one little lite in a corner making it harder to read!

I put this on the wall in my office. I love that it is silent. I hate having a ticking clock. It takes 3 batteries for the light function and since it's in my office I don't use the light function. 3 batteries just seems like a lot in today's world where everything can be recharged with a usb.

Its perfect for one of my bathrooms... love the nightlight!
