Welcome to Fairhope
Sarra has written a compelling story of tragedy, pain, doubt and disbelief in ones self. Her story shows the haunting dislike that pledges you after an attack on your person. She shows the difficulty from others to support and know you were not at fault for someone elses horrific act. You feel for what this girl and so many others have to go through. The bonus that Leigh Anne is healed by love and believing in your right for justice is heartfelt. We must stand up for you as you stand in the path of controversy.

Knox will knock your sox off...
This was a story of one broken girl and one broken boy trying to piece together their pasts and learn to trust and love again. It was a little on the short side, and I didn't like the way it ended, but over the story was well written and clean. When we first meet Leigh Ann she is on her way home for the summer or maybe longer from college in Boston. It's quite obvious she has a lot on her distracted mind and we soon find out that something happened but what happened doesn't come out till almost the very end of this book. That part to me felt slightly rushed...Knox oh my he is a sweetie and I fell in instant love with his character. He is sweet and caring, even though he has gotten a bad rap for not wanting to date any of the local townies... Poor guy I felt badly for him that he got a bad rep because he DIDN'T want to sleep his way through the town. Knox doesn't open up to anyone. He quietly goes about his life until a dark night on a back road changes something for him...Leigh Ann has done what's expected all her life, forced to make some of her own decisions Leigh Ann has to decide if for one she is going to tell the truth about her past, and two if she is going to go against everything everyone else wants for her and become her own person. Choosing the boy she wants instead of what's expected, choosing her own destiny is mostly what this book is about. So what I didn't like was how short the book was. I thought that most of the characters were well developed, with maybe the exception of Penny who was her best friend. Since she is getting the next book I figure this might have been done on purpose. I see it is a series but the next book description talks about Penny which was Leigh Ann's best friend growing up and her crush who happens to be her brothers best friend. I wanted a little bit more and I was a little disappointed with the end. . I'm not sure if Leigh Ann and Knox's story will continue and that's what disappointed me some. I wanted to see more from them and where things were going to go, so I was left a little big hanging at the end...I wish that she would have at least given us an epilogue to explain what was left out. You'll see what I mean but I still recommend reading this one. It's a sweet story and Knox was worth it! Totally SWOON WORTHY! Sigh... I couldn't stop thinking about how adorable he really was...Still the book was a good read and the story was written well. It was a sweet book and I really enjoyed Knox's character, so I give it a rating of 4 stars!!!

Sweet and Raw
There's a lot of dark subjects covered in this book but Sarra goes all the way in making sure they're covered with care. The romance is sweet and enjoyable and well paced. I'm excited to read the next in the series!

While we don’t learn right in the beginning why she came back it’s pretty easy to understand that something happened with her th
I went to this book without knowing a lot about it and not expecting a lot but I ended up reading it in one sitting and loving it. This book starts two years after Leigh Anne left her hometown after her high-school graduation leaving her family, friends and boyfriend behind. While we don’t learn right in the beginning why she came back it’s pretty easy to understand that something happened with her that left her broken. In her hometown no one sees any difference in her and she keeps faking in front of everyone that everything is fine, even her parents that actually know what happened to her. She ends up meeting Knox the night she comes back after having a car accident where he ends up saving her and Knox is the only person who can actually see how broken she is.I really liked these characters and their connection. I loved how Knox was able to help Leigh Anne without even knowing what happened to her and how Leigh Anne didn’t judge him when she learned about his past. Their relationship was perfect and while it seemed it was a little bit too fast I really like that their relationship was not only physical but they also helped each other with their problems. I also really liked the character development in this book and how Leigh Anne went from a girl who does not let anyone see her really self to someone who becomes strong and able to conquer her fears. I really didn’t like was Leigh Anne’s mom. Her mom is one of that women who cares a lot about what people will say about her and is very judgemental so it really got to my nerves that she tried so hard to keep what happened to Leigh Anne in secret when what Leigh Anne needed was a to talk about it and support.Overall I really enjoyed this book. This is the first time I read anything written by Sarra Cannon but I know I’ll want to read more of her books. If you want to read a new adult book that not only has romance but also talks about some dark subjects you should give this one a try.

3.5 ☆
It was too short and I would have liked it if she stood up for herself a little sooner.Characters were believable and likeable.Loved Knox's character. Mother is toxic and I would have liked to read about their change of heart or her cutting them out of her life because of their toxicity.

An unusual and captivating story
This was more than a romance story - in fact the romance between the hero and heroine was almost a side part of this tale. It's easy to read between the lines and guess what happened to Leigh Anne a year and half before she returns of Fairhope. What is less easy to guess is how the story develops and how she reacts to this. Even though this is a 'coming of age/young adult' romance it doesn't feel like that in the way that it is written - the hero and heroine could be any age. This is written all from Leigh Anne's POV - I prefer dual POV as you get to 'know' both lead characters this way. This left Knox feeling 'flat' to me at times. I thought this would be more of a 'will they get together' book but actually it is much more about how Leigh Anne takes control of her situation, grows up and comes to terms with a terrible event in her past. Some of the characters, such as Leigh Anne and her Mum, were very well written and described, others were a little underdeveloped e.g. Preston and Leigh Anne's Dad. For this reason I have given the story only 4 stars. However generally the book was well written. There wasn't an overwhelming amount of description that caused you to lose the flow of the story, the plot line was believable and the pace of the story was good.I will more than likely read other stories in this series.

Surprisingly good!
4.5 STARSConsidering this was a freebie, you never know which way they are going to go.Fortunately this one did not disappoint.Leigh-Anne is a 19yo college student, returning home to Fairhope - to her "perfect" life. She is hiding a secret, which becomes apparent around halfway through the book.I really felt for her, troubled and with no true friends to turn to, you do wonder why she is surrounded by people, who don't have her best interests at heart. Then she meets "bad boy" Knox and something about him strikes a chord and there is obvious chemistry between them. Leigh-Anne anxious to act upon it owing to the secrets of her past, and the real reason she is returning from Boston. She really does not want to go back to her old life.A little more could have been made of the reasons she chose to leave in the first place, IMO.A sweet YA/NA coming of age book. Not schmultzy sweet, realistic (Leigh Anne is not a virgin, looking for her true love sweetheart) and I resonated with the storytelling.Great book by this author.

I especially liked The Trouble with Goodbye which is a story about ...
It's hard to dismiss a book that deals with such a hard hitting subject. I especially liked The Trouble with Goodbye which is a story about honesty, truth and courage against adversity.Leigh Anne is a likable character. At little naive at times but still working out what it means to have her independence on her own terms. She makes mistakes. We all do. Sometimes she makes choices based on her 'before' life which only reminds her of why she left her small town in the first place. Sometimes she sucks it up and makes new steps to begin living by her own rules and not those of her well-to-do parents. These decisions she could certainly be commended for.I especially liked Knox but as a character he didn't really have any flaws that would mar his credibility as a hero of the story. His past life, as painful as it was, seemed to be exactly that. He was well on his way to living in the 'now', and with a little help from Leigh Anne, developed as his own person.I've given this review 4 out of 5. The only things I felt lacking were a sense of drama or emotional tension that is common in New Adult books now. At times I was reading dialogue and descriptions of the tragedies that happened but I didn't altogether feel the pain behind them. Having said that, the subject detail is given openly and without bias, and for that Cannon can be commended for tackling this delicate subject. Now I'm looking forward to Penny and Mason's story. And I pretty much think there'll be fireworks!

The item came in perfect condition and safely packaged
Item description:The item came in perfect condition and safely packaged. The quality of the cover is not very strong, it is thin and bent easily. The paper inside is thin but okay quality. The writing size and font is easy to read and overall the item is good.Story rating:The reason behind the 3 stars for this book is due less to dissatisfaction, than to it not standing above the rest. I enjoyed the story, I liked the characters, and the writing was good, I just didn't find it differentiated itself from the countless similar stories I've read in this genre.
