love it
A beautiful handmade bit of leather and elastic with thoughtful design despite its minimalist appearance. Ok so I’m not sure how clear this will be but I’m going to give it a shot and explain my setup, to maybe give others a few ideas. Using a couple of different methods I was able to fit the 5 including refills, 2 TRAVELER’S COMPANY (herein referred to as TN) refills, and 1 Yamamoto Ro-Biki Notebook. That’s 8 different things. (some are thinner or smaller though) •I nested a TN 031 (sticker release paper) inside the craft folder and used 1 band for both •I kept the Ro-Biki by itself since it’s a bit more slim, using 1 band •I nested a TN 032 (accordion fold paper) inside the plastic zipper insert, using 1 band to secure both • for the last available band I used the “connecting three refills” method by gentlemanstationer. Using the included extra band i connected 2 of the inserts together, then nested the 3rd insert between them using 1 band. I reckon I could duplicate the 3in1 method with all 4 bands to give me a total of 12 inserts if I was feeling wild. (and if i had 3 more extra bands) Folder: I plan to keep small loose notes in here, maybe a movie tickets or something too. Sticker book: obviously to keep my favorite stickers usable, but also as a way to neatly hold stickers to put inside various other inserts at a later date Ro-Biki: a higher quality paper in a pretty ivory tone I plan to draw and doodle on Plastic insert: my work gives out cards with yearly schedules on them, that will go in one card slot, the zipper part already has some sticky notes and a Pilot Birdy Switch in it, this is a very tiny multipen that is one side ballpoint, one side mechanical pencil. accordion insert: I want to draw a map of the country and fill in where I’ve visited Lined Insert: journaling, this is the most natural page style to write on for me in this manner. Blank: jotting down thoughts and ideas (I write a lot and you would be amazed at the ideas that slip through your brain like sand through your fingers if you don’t immediately write the basis of it down) Grid: shopping lists, structured lists like birthday gift ideas, etc I plan to add one more insert when it arrives, a blank weekly planner, which I will add birthdays and my own holidays on.

Great Travelers Journal!
I fell victim to journal-tok on TikTok and really wanted a travelers journal! This one is perfect! It comes with everything you need (even a pen). It’s very easy to put together. It looks very similar to the LC ones which is why it caught my eye. It’s nice quality and again comes with everything you need. It feels nice, like leather, easy to use, easy to quickly journal or jot done anything. The leather closure makes it feel more secure, very functional and the size is perfect! I love it! Definitely recommend.

Quality! Love it
I'm really pleased with this - honestly I feel like it is under-priced. It is ready-to-gift. Comes with all these little accessories and is ready to use; you don't need to buy anything additional! Included is a binder clip, a clip to add to the leather cover so you can attach a pen, 3 notebooks (blank, lined, grid), a pen, zippered pouch and card slots, and a heavy kraft paper “folder”. The leather is also nice and soft and smells like real leather. They included an extra elastic too. I like that there’s a leather piece on the closing elastic band versus being the elastic alone, it’s more robust and won’t leave a thin indent line. For my setup, I put in the kraft folder, the zippered pouch piece, the grid notebook and my Hobonichi weeks. My photo shows the view from the top for sizing reference. I don’t think I’ll be adding anything else for the time being. I really wanted a way to have my Weeks and another plain notebook together so I’m not carrying 2 separate journals around. This leather portfolio solves that problem and looks very nice! I’ve been researching leather portfolio type setups and while I can appreciate workmanship and quality and eco friendly this and that I’m just not interested in spending $300 on a paper planner and notebooks and some barely embossed leather that other companies are offering. I believe this set was about $32. If you are looking to “test the waters” I highly recommend this set.

What a great travel journal!
I love this set up, it is a complete package for sure! The leather book is lovely, I was so very pleased with this having all 3 styles of refills (blank, lined & dotted). The folder is great too. I will be honest, I wasn't at all a fan of the plastic pouch organizer *Amazon offers a canvas version at a low cost that is absolutely lovely* though I understand the plastic one keeps the cost where it was... I still recommend upgrading to the canvas when you can if you purchase this journal. The pen holder & clasp/clamps/whatever they're actually named are all a nice touch as well. The pen is... well, a pen. It does have a decent ink insert it seems, however the rest of it is pretty bland & I'm not a fan of, however I am slightly particular with pens - so I definitely can't fault them here. Even with my pickiness towards the pouch being canvas & a better quality pen replacing the included to create my perfect kit - the fact that everything else about this kit is so lovely & super satisfying is just wonderful & very impressive at this price point. I love this, so much. I've already had this a couple months & the slight patina coming on is absolutely amazing. The durability has been great & I couldn't have asked for more!

Quality product; I anticipate many years of use
I purchased "Refillable Leather Journal Travelers Notebook - 8.5 x 4.5 Travel Diary with 5 Inserts + Pen Holder and Binder," etc. fully intending to use it as a "test journal" before eventually upgrading to a Midori. However, I'm finding that there is absolutely no need to upgrade. The leather of this journal has a slightly less supple feel to it than the Midori's, but I would still rate this journal as a high-quality product. It does not look or feel cheap. I've treated mine with Leather Honey Leather Conditioner, and it's wearing nicely. I'm not rough with it, but I'm not super cautious, either. It gets jammed into my purse every day, multiple times a day, and it still looks good. Actually, all the action it's seeing is making it look more handsome. I plan to reapply the Leather Honey every so often. I wasn't sure that I would like the closure; the elastic band on the model I purchased has a leather "tab" on it. I've come to appreciate this feature, though, because the tab acts as an on-board pen holder for my Lamy fountain pen. I slide the pen between the edge of the journal's pages and the leather tab, and the tab helps the pen stays tucked securely inside the cover. Consequently, I do not need to use the separate pen holder. This technique might not work with a more slender pen (the Lamy is a bit chunky). The accessories that come with the journal are useful. I use the zipper pouch for odds and ends (extra cash, stamps, Post-It notes, etc.) and the kraft folders for things like receipts. The binder clip is handy for keeping the journal open to a specific page when I'm writing. The notebooks that come with the journal take fountain pen ink without feathering/bleeding through. I do find the paper to be a bit thick, and it adds unnecessary bulk to the journal. Consequently, I'll probably make my own refill notebooks of thinner paper. The thickness of the paper in the notebooks contributes to my four star (rather than five star) rating. My only true complaint is that the elastic is, as others have noted, a wee bit loose. This is something that can be adjusted, but I do prefer the level of tension in the Midori system to this journal's system. Still, this isn't enough to cause me to switch to a Midori, and it's likely a matter of preference. Even so, this contributes to my four-star rating. I'm glad that I purchased this instead of a Midori. In fact, I own a passport-sized Midori, which this journal is replacing, and I suspect that it will be a constant companion to me for many years to come. The small issues that caused me to bump this from a 5-start to a 4-star rating might not bother others. In fact, if I could give this a 4.5 star rating, I would. If you're on the fence and wondering, "Should I buy this or a Midori?," I suggest you take a chance on this product, especially if you're new to using this type of journal system. If the one you receive is like the one I received, I think you'll be pleased with the journal and become quite attached to yours (as I have with mine!).

A must have for any journaler!
I've been journaling for several months now at the recommendation of my therapist and I've been using a notepad and pen mostly and it was mostly fine. I was recommended this notebook by a friend who is an avid journaler herself, and it is truly a fantastic experience. This is a great entry-level notebook for the average journaler! The texture of the leather cover is fantastic, the notebook can hold several different inserts and the various accessories elevate it all to another level. As strange as it sounds, I look forward to writing in this thing in the mornings now lol :D

Great TN Starter Kit
I was in search of an affordable travelers notebook and found this brand of TN. I’m so happy with my purchase. It smells like real leather. It feels like great quality. If you are new to TN’S like me and don’t want to splurge crazy amount of money on a product your not sure is going to be right for you and your journal ecosystem needs then I recommend choosing this September leather TN. It already comes with everything you need you don’t have to buy more things for it unless you want to but it’s a great bundle for an affordable price. It definitely serves its purpose!

one of my favorite amazon purchases this year
I’ve been using this refillable leather journal for a few months now and love it. The cover feels soft and high-quality, and I appreciate that it already comes with multiple inserts. I use one for journaling, one for work notes and ideas, and another for random thoughts or lists — it keeps everything organized in one place. The leather has a classic, timeless look that just gets better with use. It’s compact enough to carry anywhere but still feels substantial. Highly recommend for anyone who loves writing or organizing their thoughts on paper.
