Top Shot Pros Grip Extension Fits S&W M&P Shield (Both 9mm and.40 Cal) Grip Extension

S&W should be using these on the original 8 round & 7 round magazines that come with the gun. These grips feel better and take only a second to replace. Just empty the magazine, push in the center button with a knife or small screwdriver and slide the old end cover off. Make sure you keep pressure on the bottom with your other finger keeping the base plate down and the spring from popping out, and slide this new Top Shot Grip cover on. I used it on my 7 round magazine. Now it feels like I'm holding something with the 7 round mag in the pistol. For the price, I think I'll replace the one on the 8 round mag too. I read one review that said it fit loose. Not mine. Not at all. Fits like a factory installed part. The one on the factory 8 round magazine is the one that is loose. I like this one a whole lot more.UPDATE May 27 2017: Just installed a 2nd one on the 8rd Magazine. Fits like a glove, and really makes a huge improvement over the original extender that comes on the magazine. The black gap filler that slides on and off of the 8 round magazine is loose, as you will know if you own this weapon, that comes with the original 8 round magazine. So if you'll take the Top Shot Pros extender and replace the original with it, then use a little bit of silicone adhesive on the black gap filler that comes on the 8 rd mag, press it against the mag extender, wipe off the excess, put the mag in the pistol, and let dry. When it's finished the 8 round magazine won't have a loose piece on it, and it looks and feels like one solid piece. So for $15.00 you can purchase two and upgrade your M&P very nicely. Hopefully you can see from the added pictures in the update.

Adds just enough length to the 7 round magazine (S&W Shield 9mm) to allow your little finger on the grip. For me, it feels better than the 8 round magazine. No instructions were included, but it was easy enough to figure out. Press the little tab in on the bottom of the magazine, located in the middle. Slide it off slowly, remember, there is a spring and plastic plate in the bottom of the magazine, so keep your thumb over the bottom when you remove the old base plate from the magazine. Holding the spring and plastic plate in the magazine, slide the new base on. I was done in less than 30 seconds.

I have large hands and this is what I needed. It's a more stable grip. It doesn't work well with the 7 round mag because there is no spacer for those. Works perfectly for all of my 8 round mags. It also makes the gun look more stylish.

Overall it seems like a quality product, the fit to the magazine is solid and sturdy, and I received mine two days quicker than expected. The only complaint I have is the baseplate is just a touch larger than the grip of the gun so the corners were sticking out. I chose to take about 10 minutes with a file and smooth the corners which solved my issue. For the price and the build I would recommend this product and plan to buy a few more.

These are good. Slips on in place of the M&P mag base. Fits snug. Has a good texture. My knife cut on the inside indicates it is as good as M&P base plates; not too soft, not too hard, just goldilocks. At $7.50 each, fair price for a quality item.

Read the product description CAREFULLY! There are two generations of S&W M&P 9s, which look almost identical, but the magazines ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE, AND THE MAGAZINE FINGER EXTENSIONS AREN'T, EITHER! There was nothing wrong with the product; I just ordered the wrong one. My bad, lesson learned.

Fit great and easy to install. Shooting dramatically improved because the gun is much more ergonomical with this extension. Wish they came in different colors but overall I am very pleased with it. Shot about 400 rounds with this on my mag and no problems I love it. Doesn't add anymore bulk than the 8 round mag.

The grip extension is excellent. I don't know why I waited so long to buy these. I've had my 9mm Shield for a few years and just put up with the poor grip. I use the 7 round mag for the smaller profile. The 8 round is too big. This extends the 7 round mag to full grip with minimal increase in profile. Another reviewer said something about this making the magazine harder to install. What typically causes the difficulty in installing the mag is having one in the chamber. This extension makes no difference at all. The only problem I had installing the extension is that I didn't think about how the spring would fly out as soon as I removed the old magazine base. I was smarter on the second install and it was quite easy.
