This is one of the better looking costume pieces that I have found on Amazon. The fine detail work shows that extra care has been put into its making, and that always stands out when you're putting together a Renaissance Festival costume. The design on the front and on the straps really shines through.What I was mainly concerned about though, was whether it would fit me. At 275 pounds, I am not exactly a thin man, and way too often costume manufacturers miss the mark on things that they say are XXL or above. Thus, I was overjoyed when I was able to comfortably strap this belt around my waist.I am anxious to add this belt to my costume repertoire for this fall's Renaissance Festival. If I end up having problems after wearing it, I will revisit this review.

I chose this belt for my husband as he typically dresses up when we go to different renaissance type festivals. The details on this are very nice and is more of a girdle type thick based belt. I’m not sure too much longevity once it gets sweaty at an outside festival, but I will update should I have some problems. I think the price point is a bit high as you could pick up a leather belt for the same price however it is for the details. I truly believe that is what they are trying to offer, the details. Overall, it is a nice belt and will be perfect for any type of dress up type scenarios and it does have plenty of room if you need to punch more holes in the belt.

It has unique patterns that are reminiscent of the Norse explorers. My eldest daughter is very much into Norse mythology and loves dressing the part for SCA events. This gives her costume some verve that was missing before.This belt has a wide range of fitment. However, while there are limits you can get around them with a little gear. You need a 37inch waist for minimum fit. My daughter is about a 32. After adding additional waist inches with padding, armor and the like she is a 38. Just about perfect.By way of design, the online pictures are ok. The actual belt does not have quite as much contrast as those pictures. I found the belt to be a less glossy than the product pictures depict it. On the other hand I think the lack of gloss and contrast lends a bit of reality to it. It is faux leather, don't expect much by way of durability. I would suggest reinforcing the belt buckle holes. Probably with the addition of actual leather along the back. Even a thin layer glued and maybe gently grommeted on might save it from damage that will occur. Don't hang a sword off of it. Devise a different method (use a shoulder/back sheath/scabbard) but a sword or axe hanging off it will cause damage.As a costume piece I think it is a little pricy but my girls happy smile is worth it.

This embossed wide belt came very simple, rolled in itself in a plastic bag and did not include seller or product information. The product has a strong scent that even after 2 days out of its bag and airing, persistent.This belt is clearly faux leather, the material thin and easy bends. When bent, the material will crackle and rip partially, destroying the integrity of the area. Just wearing this belt causes this effect and the straps have taken damage from basic movement after 2 hours of use.The embossed pattern is clear and very easy to see what it is at a distance, the studs around the front well set but made of low quality material. The buckets are very lightweight and do hold the belt in place but that did not save the straps from taking damage.This is a costume piece that will not tolerate to much wear and tear and though this product is plenty long enough and fits all three people in the house who fluctuate from a size 28-34 waist size with room to spare, I find this product extremely high priced for something that won’t get many uses out of, marked at $45.99 at the time of this review with an offered coupon. Only twice the listed price will get you a product made of real leather that with the right care, will last you a lifetime.

I am doing a Druid cosplay for an upcoming convention. I thought this belt would be really cool for that. I plan on changing the front and putting a skull where the Viking emblem is. The quality is great and it is nice and heavy. The buckles look really good and are done very well. It’s really well made. It fits well and will be big enough no matter if you are a small or x large. For the price it is a great deal.

I'm a large guy at 300lbs and this fits great right out of the package without needing to change anything. It's definitely faux leather, but high quality with great looks and details. Will fit my viking halloween costume perfectly but could be used for other sets as well.

I am half Norwegian and have Viking in my blood, which I can prove. So this peaked my interest immediately. My hubby and I love reenactment and he is also a performance magician, so I ordered this for him, thinking he could use it for his videos. And indeed, he really likes it! It looks great and is well made, and we think it will help create great videos. If you are into reenactment or if you just like really neat barb, are esoteric in your spiritual beliefs or otherwise, this is a great purchase!
