Walnut and Oak Floating Desk

I bought this table around 2 months ago, but have only been using it for a month (or I mounted it a month ago). The table is doing its job so far, so far so good. Overall, the table is decent, but I'm taking off a star because it did come with some flaws.Pros:* Solid construction (even though it appears to be just walnut veneer). The quality of the table is good.* Amazing design. It looks great in my room.Cons:* The mounting instructions were not designed for the average person. Specifically, the initial instructions didn't mention needing to mount this to a stud! Pretty difficult to imagine how this table could hold any weight (even its own weight) without mounting to a stud, but easy to imagine how someone can accidentally rip their drywall down if the table was not installed properly. However, the instructions that came with didn't mention it. I ended up contacting the seller asking for nails for studs, to which the seller prompted responded and sent over additional nails that worked well with it. Bonus points for awesome seller.* Color is a muted for walnut (when compared to the photos). I think it's the type of finish that's making it more muted than is shown in the photos.* The inside of the table wasn't really cleaned. I needed to spend 30min sanding and cleaning the inside of the table before mounting. Not a deal breaker, but it's just not something I expect from new furniture.There is a bit more cons than pros here, but I do think the table is worth a shot if you're a handy person and have some experience dealing with furniture/house stuff.I do want to emphasize how awesome the seller is, though, in terms of speed of communication and willingness to help when I asked him for more nails so I can mount the table to a stud.

First of all, the photos are total false advertising — this does not come in the shade of walnut shown at all. I had to stain mine, which was easy and cheap to do but not what I expected to have to do for myself based on the product images shown here. As you can see I got a pretty solid end result that truly doesn't look to be walnut from the stain so in the end, I'm happy. For the price of this, you shouldn't have to do anything to it yourself. This also came with a small imperfection to the back right corner, as if it was sanded down too far on a slight angle but it's very minimal and doesn't really bother me.The seller was also VERY helpful in sending me the proper hardware I needed. It came with drywall screws but no anchors, and given the weight of this I very much needed the later — they sent me exactly what I needed at no charge and it came pretty quickly.I actually love how this all came together and it's just what I needed/wanted for this little area in my apartment.
