Nikon Coolpix P510/520/530 Filter Adapter (62mm)

I love this adapter! I searched high and wide for something like this and finally found it! I have been using the adapter easily on my I Nikon Coolpix 530. It works great as long as a filter is attached and I purchased a 67mm lens cap as well to protect everything. I had ordered an extension tube before this adapter and hated it as the tube blocked the view. I keep this adapter on continuously and have no trouble zooming in/out or powering on/off the camera. It slides on nicely and is easy to use in my opinion so not sure about the difficulties a lot of other reviewers had.And the seller gets 4 gold stars for reading my notes and shipping it to me so I would receive it by my deadline date (I did pay for faster delivery, but there was still a large window of time and the seller got it to me promptly!).

This works perfectly with a 67mm UV or circular polarizer on my Nikon Coolpix P510. My lens hood hasn't arrived yet so I haven't been able to see if there is vingetting with it attached. After trying three similar adapters for my Canon G16 and having none of them work well I was shocked when this one arrived and did. Hopefully I can get a lens hood on there too but even if I can't the ability to at least use the filters is worth the price of the adapter. If you don't see me edit this post you can assume the lens hood worked too. I will update the post if it doesn't.

This adapter absolutely doesnt work with Nikon coolpix p520. I followed the instructions and zoomed out some before I tightened it on. I ordered some lenses and everything fit fine. HOWEVER, when the camera went into sleep mode, the zoom lens retracted and it jammed. I held my breathe, took out the battery, took off the adapter, and prayed nothing was damaged. Nothing was, so I tried one more time, but followed the previous mentioned steps, but this time I didnt tighten it as far. Before I used it I shut it off to see if it was going to jam again. It didnt. Woohoo...or so I thought. I attached my filter once again and starting taking pics. This time the filter and the adapter fell off while I was snapping shots. Deep breathe, my filters werent damaged. Once again, I tried this two more times, same results, adapter and filter falls off. Not worth tightening it fully and damaging my camera. So back it goes. Highly disappointed.

The thread is too shallow. Have to attach to Lens when the lens is already extended out, or ther cameral malfunctions when turned onwith this adapter attached to the lens in the "OFF" position.

I bought this for my girlfriend's P520. I utilizes the "kinda-sorta" threads on the lens. It is not a firm and stable as the press-fit collar that I used on my P520, which is pressed onto the body of the lens. That was also available on Amazon.

Fit perfectly. Permitted me to purchase filters and a reversal lens hood and cap for my Coolpix P520.
