Once you get them cold enough, they are great
They are exactly the size I need and are well made (and in the US), but be advised: these have to get COLD to freeze. If you have a smaller fridge with only 1 controller for both the fridge and freezer, it may not get cold enough. A larger unit with independent controls will be fine—set the freezer to 0 and leave them in there over the weekend. These are best for keeping frozen stuff frozen, not cold stuff cold—get the blue Chillin’ Brew series for that. The purple ones are good to get your ice cream home from the store, not to keep your lunch cold. The temperature differential is too great to use these to keep things cold—these work around 5 degrees and cold things are generally above 32—all the work goes into getting the items colder rather than keeping them frozen.Be sure you want a frozen food pack—these are what you want for that. They work well, come in good sizes, are rugged and won’t fail, and are made in the US.

Gets cold!
Seriously though, it does get cold. I do some outdoor summer sports where I normally bring a cooler with water and ice. I switched to using one of these instead of ice. It did not do as good as ice but was a lot simpler and easier, not to mention cheaper. I purchased a second one, and now it's almost as good as ice, but leaves more room in my cooler, is easier to work your hand around fishing out items from your cooler. No more sharp ice edges. Now I don't have to make a separate convenience store stop for ice, and I don't have a ton of water to dump out of the cooler after it's melted. To sum it up, it's cheaper, simpler, and more convenient than using ice. Also noteworthy, is more room in the cooler, and if you have to transport a larger cooler over a distance, it is a little lighter as well to consider. For me, it was nice not having to make a separate stop for ice too. Water that was placed in just the right area did freeze a bit, but after taking out of the cooler in the summertime heat, was easy to enjoy after mere moments.

Stopped freezing after couple of uses
As others have experienced, this was great at first. But after just 2-3 uses, it no longer freezes. Our freezer gets down to 0 degrees F (colder than many other freezers, because our freezer has its own, dedicated compressor). This ice unit stopped freezing solid. It stays liquid. I've even tried putting it in the back/middle of the freezer. Even after 4+ days, it's still not frozen. And it doesn't work very well when it's in liquid form (I tried it camping last weekend). And this thing was expensive!

Not impressed, waste of money
This ice pack melts 3 times faster than my cooler shack ice packs, I use both at the same time and both are the lower temperature ice packs. I have put this ice pack size large in a -10 degree freezer,2 days later it is only partially frozen. My blue ice brand ice packs from walmart work much better than these do. These are a waste of money.

Careful, it will freeze items you out next to it.
It does get colder than the average ice pack. I am using it for a lunch cooler. Great to keep your drinks very cold but the first time I used it I had some hard boiled eggs in a ziplock bag in my cooler. They did freeze! I think this one is overkill for a lunch cooler but it’s pretty good otherwise. It doesn’t stay frozen any longer than any other ice pack I have used. It’s about average in that respect. By the end of my 10 hour day at work it is pretty much room temperature but I’m also only using a $30 soft cooler to keep it insulated.

These are Amazing! Cold As Advertised!!!
Seriously I'm pretty shocked they live up to their hype. I've played around with various generic ice packs and used dry ice for camping (this still aren't THAT cold though) and I'm just impressed. We used a very thin walled soft cooler to pack stuff for the holiday drive. 7 Hours sitting on the floor in the middle row just above the exhaust. When I opened the cooler the ice pack was still half frozen, with FROST on it, and the cut fruit in a baggie right under it was itself semi-frozon (didn't start that way). So not only did the pack not thaw out in all that time (lots of capacity), but it got managed to actually freeze someone (it absorbed a lot of heat).Again, this isn't dry ice. If you need that much cooling capacity only one thing will do. But if you're looking to keep things cold and DRY for a good while these are amazing. I bought a Small, Medium, and a Large. Now I'm tempted to try an XL to use in the camping cooler along with a smaller block of dry ice.IDEA: Instead of replenishing the dry ice in the cooler, use the spare dry ice to refreeze the ice pack! Hmmmmm Should keep me from accidentally freezing things that shouldn't freeze.

Not freezing
Have been using these for 3 years with no issues. Supposed to freeze in 36 hours. Put them in the freezer for a trip. After a week and a half, the extra large never froze and the medium only got slushy. Guess I need to look for something more reliable.

it really freezes ! Turned my Yeti cooler into a fridge for several days.
If you freeze those at -25C, you're good for 4-5 days in a quality cooler.

Very cold!
Yes, these are very cold. They froze my Coca-Cola can within 3 hours of being in my lunch cooler bag! I mean frozen slush after I opened the can.

Great Bricks that work well
These keep your food & beverages cold for up to 36 hours longer inside your cooler which is ideal for me as I purchased these for mainly for extended kayak camping trips away without the need for a heavy & bulky electric camp fridge. I'm confident I will get close to 7 days of ice retention now coupled with my IGLOO COOLER. Just make sure you have a decent quality cooler & you're all set! Great product.
