The little add-ons are a pain in the butt
It runs great. The only thing is one of the tires seems to be a little wobbly.

Nice scale model, good details
For starters, I own a 1996 Japan market Jimny, so I know what this is supposed to look like.Model came packaged well with protective film on the plastic windows and roof. Windows are more - less flawless.Unfortunately in my case the LH front blinker lens wasn't included. I just want another lens, but the Amazon "help" only wants me to return the whole item. If the seller sees this, please help me get a lens to make my Model complete. I would like to buy a spare detail parts kit - I'm happy to pay for it.I haven't tried to run it yet, batteries are charging. I'll try to remember to follow up soon...Light lenses are all molded in clear plastic, but maybe will look better than molded in color once the stickers are applied. Stickers appear to be of good quality, I haven't applied them yet. There's even a sticker for the instrument cluster - really cool.Detail parts are flexible black plastic, seems like they should be melted from behind the surface so they don't fall off - old modelers trick. Some minor trimming is required. They provide an extra small Phillips screwdriver that is needed to open the transmitter battery compartment - need 2x AA batteries for the transmitter (not included) - but I don't remember if they were supposed too be. There are 2 truck batteries included, Note some didn't have 2 in the other Amazon listings. To me this is well worth a couple bucks.Truck has a battery compartment on the bottom rear, about where the fuel tank would be. Note that the cover is DIFFICULT to open - when clean and new - may be Extremely difficult when dirty. You must press the rounded tab towards the rear - this is NOT part of the cover. Then I had to pry the cover open with a small flat blade screwdriver. Be gentle, the scale appearance is excellent but this isn't a Traxxas that you can hit with a hammer. Plastics are thin, allowing for scale details - not bullet proof - you usually can't get both.Interior includes front and rear seats, molded in black.I have several scale crawlers, if you want to play inside, you can put pillows and stuff under the blankets on a bed to mimic all terrain stuff. Outside use may not be a good idea.Motor seems very small for a 10th scale R/C, but it is probably geared way down so may still crawl well. Probably not going to win any races. For the price, this model seems absolutely excellent.Gut feel says not appropriate for little kids, structure and drivetrain probably can't handle the abuse. Will change my rating to 5 stars if they can send me the missing piece.

Fun
For the price it’s a 4/5, in general it’s closer to a 3/5. With that said, I would definitely buy it again and I got it on sale so I’m happy. A couple issues I’ve experienced. One of the seats was loose in the vehicle and I had to take it apart to snap it back in place. While not super difficult, it’s not exactly easy the first go around because you have to guess which screws have to come out to get the body off. All the decals in the set have to be trimmed down to fit as they have excess clear on the perimeter of them. The dash decal requires body removal if you really want to install it. The battery compartment is difficult to open and not intuitive. You pull the tab towards the back of the vehicle and pry the cover up. They are not attached like you think they would be. The controller, while functional, is the least quality of the 3 RC crawlers I own. The front end does bind while turning sharply, but this is due to the locked front 4x4 axle. No different than driving a real 4x4 truck with a locked front axle on pavement. The rear axle isn’t aligned properly and the vehicle while driving straight, drives with a slight yaw if you can picture that.(the rear wheels don’t follow the path of the front wheels even though the vehicle itself is tracking a straight line). While that seems like a lot of deficiencies, it’s still super fun. I make different cardboard obstacles my son and I like to drive over them. We both have a blast. While I own nicer crawlers this one certainly has its place. If you are a beginner this is a great place to start, or if you have nicer ones this works great to let the kids use without worrying too much about it.

Cheap
Lots of pieces falling off. Both driveshafts fell off and a leaf spring. Just from being driven around inside.

Lots of fun
For me this RC car was mainly a fun little toy to have at my office just to mess around with occasionally. It was fun to set up a little rock garden and have some of my coworkers and me try to navigate the obstacles. The truck comes mostly all assembled with the exception of all the trim pieces. I had a hard time getting some of the trim pieces attached and had to bend some of the plastic to make them fit. I never could get the small mirrors to fit, but that’s OK, It won’t take away from the fun. It comes with two batteries, a charger, and remote control.

A Driving Model
The media could not be loaded. If you have other RC's, understand that this is a scale model that happens to drive. Like all WPL rigs I've owned, they're incredibly scale in appearance. This Jimny is no exception. It looks fantastic and can be painted or customized exactly how you'd like. The driving experience, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The steering binds horribly at full lock, even with the dual rate turned down. And when the dual rate is turned down, the turning radius is close to that of a full size car. It has virtually no torque, wheelspeed, or traction. It's been rmfairly durable, but when something is this slow and anemic, it's hard to break it. It's a fun little rig for a toddler or young kid to drive around, but that's about it. I would give it three stars for quality, but the value and price point bring it up to the four star range. Just do your research and know what you're getting into with a WPL before buying.
