For example, the R1 has very little razor exposed and it is tight between the two plates. There is virtually no chance of cutting yourself. R6, on the other hand has a lot of blade exposed and a large gap (for experienced shavers). That being said, this particular razor is adjustable by using different plates, and that is a plus (can make the shave more or less aggressive). And the handles of the newer razors have better ergos. If you have a heavy beard, a slant bar double edge razor is a nice option (I have a Merkur slant bar I really like) . But this Rockwell 6C would probably work for most guys.
