Justice League: Dark (BD/DVD/UV) [Blu-ray]

Excellent movie I loved it.

Finally this film seems a long time in the making...Strange things are happening that leave the Justice League at a loss,so Batman reluctantly goes in search of John Constantine(voiced by Matt Ryan who played him in tv show) via Zatanna who is also a reluctant participant. The film is NOT suitable for younger kids as you can imagine John Constantine is a foul mouth,sarcastic,cynical but funny guy,who doesn't hold back on his thoughts and feelings. This film shoes how/who the J.L dark team comes together,learning to work as a team against an ancient evil,bent on world domination & destruction (aren't they always)...hopefully not the only film they do as they are a refreshing change from the usual J.L team. A great story,and a good edition to the JL team,but def has more adult themes. A good buy and great watch.

While i am a massive fan of the MCU, there is very little over at DC that interestes me. That was until i started randomly finding their animations while looking through Amazon Prime, Google Play, and Chil. I have to say that i am a bit of a DC fan now, but mostly JUST these animations. And i think that this might be my favorite so far.

My Grandson was staying the weekend and I told him he could buy a movie.He chose this one and said it was Awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍

I've been waiting for ages for this to be released. I was so pleased to see Constantine again even if it was in animated form. I really enjoyed this film and I hope they make more of these.

Matt Ryan was once again amazing as the voice of Constantine. This heart of this film really is Constantine and his relationship with the other characters, his interactions with Zantana being a particular highlight. The animation was good and the plot entertaining, although there are a few plot holes if you think too much about it, and there really wasn't a need for so much Batman. DC really do excel at their animated movies and this is no exception.

Justice League: Dark is yet another DC DTV movie set in their revamped universe based on the "New 52" comics imprint. While the movie is set between Justice League vs Teen Titans and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract and follows the same continuity it's not directly related to neither, being a standalone side story. It's also, easily, the best of these movies until this point since the revamp, and for now the one I can see myself rewatching multiple times.The story is as follows: all over the globe people are hallucinating others as if they were demons and monsters, causing irreparable physical and psychological damage to them and themselves. The Justice League reasons this is a mystical attack, so Batman decides to recruit the help of occult detective John Constantine in order to figure out the origin of this attack. Due to the nature of the situation, other mystical beings join the quest, temporarily forming the titular group, the Justice League Dark, as they work an uphill battle to stop the threat before an increasingly powerful villain brings humanity to its end.Unless you happen to be one of the three people on the planet who's not familiar with Batman, you don't need to have watched any of the previous movies to understand any of these characters. All of them are well introduced and given their due. The villain manages to be quite impressive and scarily powerful. The stakes are quite high, and it's shown. It's also a film in which victory comes at a high price, and things don't neatly return to the status quo once it ends.There's really a lot to like about this movie. The action is great, and the animation does it justice. Voice acting is pretty much top notch as well. Also, the movie doesn't waste any time with unneeded scenes, silly slapstick or irritating pop songs, like previous movies in the series would do. It's great that this movie pays attention to the often-overlooked mystical side of DC, and the fact that Batman isn't given top attention, even if the movie could easily justify it, is fantastic. I love Batman, but DC tends to be unable to show restraint with his presence.The extras are on par to what these movies tend to offer. I am a bit sad that at some point they decided to include just 2 bonus cartoons from previous DC animation rather than 4, but the rest of the stuff is still interesting. Though I'm a bit puzzled to the inclusion of "sneak peeks" to a couple of movies that have been released years before. Also, it's curious that one of the features is dedicated to the team member with the least screen time while there's none dedicated to two of the most important ones.In any case, I most definitely recommend this film. Probably not to children, though. They might get a kick out of the action scenes, but the general tone of the movie and the characters need a more developed mind to be appreciated. Not to mention that there are some things that might definitely scare away younger kids. Everyone else should check the film, particularly if you're into magic and sorcery.

これまで出番の無かった魔法系キャラがメインを張る今作、敵も味方も魔法を使うので、戦闘がこれまで以上に派手で見ていて楽しかったです。話もキャラも映像も、キレイばかりでなくキタナイところがちゃんとあって、不思議な雰囲気でイイ。コンスタンティンのゲスさも良かったし、スワンプシングのミステリアスさも良かったし、ザタナも可愛いです。パッケージではあまり可愛くないけど本編はちゃんと可愛い。このパッケージがバットマン人気で売ろう感満載で「本当はそんなに出番無いんでしょ？」と穿って構えていたのですが、始終置いてきぼりで不思議現象に居合わせた一般人代表なバットマンが新鮮で見せ場もそれなりにあり、いい脇役という感じでした。"名作が！名作が！"とか気にしないから純粋に単体で見て面白いDCアニメ教えて！と言われたら是非候補に入れたいところです。特にブレボのフェリックスが好きな人におすすめです。

肉弾戦にこだわりをみせる（Green Lantern: Emerald Knightsでもわざわざランタンにカンフーさせてたくらいだし）監督だが、今回は魔術戦中心のためそっちを期待すると肩透かしか。しかし中盤に現れるウ〇コの怪物や出番は少ないながら終盤で大暴れするスワンプシング等見せ場も多い。毎度ながら特典映像も多い。日本語字幕入りただし、2017年7月5日に日本盤発売されるようなので、デジタル配信コードが欲しいとかでなく、待てるならそちらを選んだ方がいいかもしれない。そっちの方が安いし。

In these movies ever since Flashpoint Paradox & Justice League: War there's just something missing from these movies, it seems there is a missing sense of hope or there's a lack of true danger to the characters or a lack of motivation and background to characters who step into prominence. The last movie Batman: Bad Blood, felt very close to DC's older works, this is a quality movie for the animation and in the respect of the characters, but I think what might be missing from this movie actually is a lack of set up or motive for a few of these characters in the DC movie universe. This is all of these characters's very first appearance in the DC animated movies so we don't know where many of these people come from or how they fit into the world. Constantine is a character that we know the most about because of the TV show and popularity thereof, but not his motivations in this animated story-line. Zatanna has been in DC animation off and on since Batman the Animated Series, same with Etrigan, and Deadman, who all get a nice introduction and explanation for why they are a part of this adventure.The movie did a good job introducing the Big Bad and how powerful it is, but one character that needed development and a little more motivation or understanding is Swamp Thing, who has an amazing screen presence, but lacks a certain amount of motivation. Swamp Thing has been out of the public eye, at least in animation since 1991 in a short-lived cartoon, so we don't really know where he comes from and other than a one or two line exposition he really doesn't get a proper introduction as to why he should be there or what makes him vulnerable or why we should care about him. If we had that I feel a few scenes in the movie would have had a much deeper impact. There is another character, the House of Mystery, which is Justice League Dark's headquarters currently under the ownership of Constantine, why don't know how he got it, but it makes an interesting setting the also gives us the character of Black Orchid, making her first appearance and the embodiment of the House's magic. She's not so much a character as a place holder and a plot device and really doesn't add or take away from the movie as a whole. Another thing I feel this show lacked compared to others is in the action department, there are some great shots, but their could have been bigger ones, especially because we get a glimpse of new members to the Justice League, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, and John Stewart Green Lantern. Of which only John Stewart gets any action and it is short lived.Overall this is certainly a movie I'm glad to have added to my collection and outside of a few minor issues I have the the characters and the action, I feel the story, the settings, and the narrative were on point and a great addition and expansion to the DC animated movie universe.
