The KitchenRaku Large Induction Hob Protector Mat is a silicone cover for protecting induction cooktops from scratches and spills. As it is magnetic, the fit is secure.I have had the Induction Hob for about 5 years, and although I haven’t had any problems yet with scrapes and spills, I thought this product was worth trying.It arrives folded small in in a vacuum sealed pack, and so when opened has many unsightly creases, but these may disappear with use.The Protectors are black with a choice of patterns; mine is called Multiple Bow Shape. All of the pattern available are a little loud, and so may not work if you have patterned wallpaper near the hob. I would have preferred a plain black Protector.With mine, the Protector needed a section cutting out to access the Induction controls and see the display.The other issue to keep in mind is that as the Protector isn’t transparent, the Hob positioning marks cannot be seen, and for power efficiency pans need to be situated central to the inductors.

So far it's been good and looks great. Works as it says. Recommended.

I got this as I was looking for protection for my hob from day to day wear and tear, but it doesn’t seem to provide 100% protection. The one I received was quite sticky and had some crunches, design was ok but quality was down.While it does provide some degree of protection, I don't like the design and quality much as it's very thin so may be if you are looking to use it to hide previous spots it can serve that purpose, but it won’t add any decor.

There's not much you can say about a cooker hob cover. However, this one is nicely thin, has decent magnetism to prevent the cover sliding about, and - this is the big plus point - you can use the hob whilst covered. It fits nicely on my Hotpoint GU14 and is quite pleasant to look at and does not jump out as being out of place. For once, I actually like a hob cov er. If only all covers were so sensible.Be careful if you like to cook with spices though. Even this hob cover will not prevent turmeric staining!

We are new to a induction hob and my husband was paranoid about it getting scratched during use so he insisted we try a protective cover. This was a good fit size wise and sticks to the hob surface and stays in place reliably, however within weeks we had stopped putting it back on the hob and it ended up in a cupboard not being used (and a month on the hob is still fine and not at all scratched) so although this does the job it promises, perhaps consider whether you really need one or whether it's just an accessory that you think you need?!
