Awesome!
Yes, this uses a microtech style action. It's AWESOME. Great present for friends, wonderful box knife for the garage or work.I need to buy a couple more honestly. I have two and gave one away, I'd like some more for my own use but also for quick/cheap/good presents for some of the guys in my orbit that are difficult to shop for. They may not need yet another knife, but the action is like a magic trick and they're fun to play with if nothing else!

Really Handy One Handed "Legal Switch Blade" Box Cutter
We cut a lot of cardboard and flatten boxes as well as cutting rope, string and plastic strapping in our towns bulk waste transfer facility. These self opening box cutters make that job way easier. I keep one in my watch pocket so I can pull it out quickly, flick the switch and the blade comes out with one hand, ready to use while I hold the item being cut with the other hand. Almost fool proof. If they stick just pull the blade all the way out and it resets. One thing that is troubling is some blades only work on one side because of where the notches on top is located but get the right one and they work flawlessly. Dull one side and you can flip it around and use the other.

Not a normal replacement blade
Great idea but not quite ready yet. The blade retention gets tired quickly resulting it the blade sliding out when in your pocket, not what you want, it comes with a five or ten pack of replacement blades and being they are so cheap I went to change it out with a name brand run of the mill blade, the machining of the two half circles found at the top of a blade are your catch points on the blade, problem is the normal blades are a bit to large forcing you to use what comes with it, that alone would have kept me from getting this product, now add to that the blade slides out when in your pocket and it’s just not safe, at times you’d open it and the blade would fly about 3/4 the way out on its own. Save your money.

SO CLOSE TO PERFECTION
Very nearly perfection. I'd decrease the psi needed to engage the blade by like maybe 15%. I'd increase the pressure of the lever needed to release the blade a bit, feels a tiny bit weak. I'd make the pocket clip a little deeper carry, maybe 3mm? I'd also 0use a touch less aggressive grip tape, it's nice in the hand but not the pocket. All in all, it's pretty amazing tho, don't let my nitpicks keep you from buying this, it is a great tool. Also: there's a 1* rating about blades not fitting. SK5 is not a blade size but rather a type of steel. Don't try to modify this with a grinder, just get the right ones.

Fun fidget tool, would not do heavy work with it.
the external build is nice, no machining marks on the aluminum handle, leather is nicely inlayed into the grip, there is a nice machining pattern to the blade holder.cons:1. on the smallish side. I wear a size medium glove and it's a 3 finger grip. 4 if you place you index finger onto the blade holder.2. as an OTF and box cutter, the locking mechanism is not the strongest. The blade holder design make exchanging blades quick it is not very strong.combine the small size, weaker locking mechanism, and blade hold, I will not be doing any hard tasks with this knife.3. the initial action was gritty and hard; compounded with the smaller grip. I disassembled the knife and polished:a. the bars holding the springs were very rough. they slide on a track on the inside of one of the handle scales. sand and polish these bracketsb. sand and polish the track (right handle scale) that the blade holder rides in (right hand scale)c. switch was gritty - on the handle scales where small tab pops out of the place and engages the toggle swith wa sand and polished.a little bit* of lIght greasing and the action became one handedNot sure I would use it for hard tasks, but a fun fidget toy/tool once you tune the action.

So slick!
Saw someone sent this knife to Roman Atwood and loved the idea. I love knives and i love razor knives. This combines so much coolness together and it feels solid. The mechanism for the knife opens and closes very solidly and nearly to no wiggle in the blade or anything. Really like this knife.Con- I could do without the non-skid on the one side of the blade. Having it in my pocket, if i reach for something else I tend to brush my knuckles on the sand paper and it doesn't feel great. Other than that, love love

Poor craftsman ship
So I bought two of these from two different sellers with two different names but they were the same blade, one simply put a sticker with there name on it while the other did not, both fell apart fast and in the same way, sucks because I wanted to love this but it was made with such a poor design it could never work long term. The part that holds the blade is very this layers of metal not secured to each other very well. Over time they came apart allowing the blade to come out, fall out, go crooked, and jam in such a way the blade would get stuck with out even coming out. Would not recommend for the price, it is not worth it, not to mention one of these was a gift, I felt awful that my gift fell apart on my friend, then mine fell apart.

Novelty box cutter (Not EDC worthy)
The build quality is not such that I would trust it for heavy daily use. My kid had the mechanism malfunctioning within minutes of taking it out of the box. To open the occasional shipment packaging and amuse your friends, it is perfect. Add in the uncertain legality of an out the front box knife and it is not a good candidate for every day carry (EDC). It is simply not worth possible legal trouble. So it sits at home in the junk drawer waiting to leap into service the next time a shipment arrives.
