I have been using this smart card reader for over three years, and it still works flawlessly. It has been very reliable, and the price is excellent. I highly recommend it.

DOD CaC Reader
Works for on a HP laptop running Windows 10 perfectly. I travel for work and it gets bounced around quite a bit. After a trip it quit working about 2 weeks after I bouhght it. I requested a return and it was replaced for free. Good seller, product works. Best part - this was the cheapest CaC reader on Amazon in January 2026.

Works great
Works great, connected to my Mac book no problem. Can’t seem to get it to work with my phone but no worries the laptop works great.

Works great with some cards, not at all for others.
Plug and play, no driver needed. It seems to work fine and is light and easy to carry around. It does NOT work with VA PIV cards, which was my reason for needing one. Otherwise, it seems to be great.

"Saicoo USB 3.0 11-in-1 SD Card Reader:" an outstanding device that is well constructed and performs flawlessly.
I ordered this "Saicoo USB 3.0 11-in-1 SD Card Reader" after browsing through several other similar items on Amazon.com. I chose this card reader because of its low price and the large number of very positive reviews it has received. I primarily use it with my Windows 10-based laptop in order to transfer large JPG and video files from my digital camera and smart phone's memory cards to my computer. In every case so far, the card reader has performed flawlessly. The Saicoo 11-in-1 SD card reader has four slots: two for full-size SD cards and two for micro SD cards. I tested each card reader slot in each of my laptop’s three USB ports. They all work perfectly. They respond almost immediately when I insert the card reader into a USB port, and they transfer data as quickly as the SD cards will allow. I especially like the rugged construction of this card reader. It’s sturdily built, and is just the right size for the somewhat cramped space where I use it. It’s very convenient to use. The USB cable on the reader is of very high quality, although I think it might have benefited from being a couple of inches longer than it is. I am very pleased with my new “Saicoo USB 3.0 11-in-1 SD Card Reader.” It gets my highest recommendation.

Super Fast & Handy
Great little card reader. Most handy if your only USB 3.0 slot is on the back of a desktop PC or if you have things like a mouse plugged into your laptop ports which blocks your ability to use multiple USB devices at once. Has slots for most popular card formats- one (SD) is on the every end (the bumper, so to speak) & especially well-located since if you have the cable stretched to limit this makes it the nearest insertion point (kinky!). And the cable itself- could be a little longer, especially when you want to plug it into the USB port on the back of the computer to take advantage of the USB 3.0 transfer speeds, but I'll take what I can get. And how about those speeds? I use it to transfer large video files from my DSLR camera to computer for editing & compared to USB 2.0 it's just shocking. Shocking. The transfer graph doesn't even have time to display a transfer rate when transferring smaller (under 200 MB) files since it's done in the blink of an eye. One thing that may be factor into your satisfaction with the reader: the blue LED light right in the middle of the unit. Now on this unit it falls on the "good" side of LED lights in that it helps to locate it when you leave it permanently plugged in at the back of your PC like I do. It's not too bright however the light does remain illuminated whether there's a card plugged in or not. So depending on if you have this totally visible & in your line of sight to where you sleep or sit for extended periods you may want to cover it up w/ some electrical tape. I won't knock off a star for it b/c, to Saicoo's credit, they didn't make it too big or bright, but your exact setup may lead it to be a criticism. Love it so far!

Two defective readers & one fried micro SDXC card
11/18/14 UPDATE to my original review (see below): Saicoo noticed my review and sent me a replacement reader. On the first use, it seemed to do great -- amazing speed and no problems. On the second use, I noticed that speeds had dropped, but wrote it off to copying HD movies rather than the reader itself. On my third use, the Saicoo destroyed a week-old 64GB micro SDXC card. While the reader plugged in fine and was recognized, different cards plugged into it were not being recognized, although they were readable by my other micro SDXC card readers and by my Surface Pro 3. Stupidly, I left one micro SDXC card in the reader while I was doing something else. When I went back a few minutes later (no more than 5 minutes), I burned my fingers trying to take the card out. Apparently the reader fried my card because now it is not being recognized by any of my other USB 3.0 readers or by my computer. Needless to say, I'm NOT happy! Given my experience with two of these readers now (the original and the replacement), I can not recommend this unit. The price is good, but I've not had any trouble with my Transcend Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader for SD/SDHC/SDXC/MS/CF Cards (TS-RDF8K) or Anker 3.0 Anker® USB 3.0 Multi-in-1 Card Reader 4-Slots for SDXC, SDHC, SD, CF, High-Speed CF (UDMA), MS, M2, Micro SDXC, Micro SDHC, Micro SD Cards [Support UHS-I Cards ] readers, both purchased here at Amazon. Lesson learned -- and an expensive one at that given the card it destroyed. My advice: Spend a few more dollars and get a higher quality reader. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This has promise, but I guess I am the unlucky one who got a dud. Only one of the micro SDXC slots allows cards to be inserted. The other slot in the front will not allow cards to be inserted properly, as they go off at an angle and won't fully seat. I am also not getting anywhere near USB3.0 transfer speeds. I was attempting to transfer 65GB of music to the card and it was telling me it would take 16 hours! And yes, I do have USB 3.0 slots that work on my computer (they work just fine with my external USB3.0 hard drive or flash drive, for example). Speeds seem to also be variable, ranging anywhere from 116kb/s to 1.2MB/s. I tried stopping the file transfer and reinserting the reader. It started off at 1.1MB/s and then went up to 11MB/s before dropping again. I expected more, considering that I have a fast micro SDXC card SanDisk 128GB Ultra Class 10 Micro SDXC up to 48MB/s with Adapter (SDSDQUAN-128G-G4A) [Newest Version ]. I am returning the reader to Amazon for a refund, but am wondering whether others have had a similar experience, as all I see are glowing reviews. Quality control can always miss one, so I'm trying to decide whether I should try another or look for a different reader. I really liked the idea of not having to use an adapter for the card and being able to transfer card-to-card. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy!

Good Smart Card reader, but watch out for the default Windows driver!
Works great after I manually installed the included driver. Running the driver installer did NOT fix anything in my case, since even after a reboot it was still using the (broken) default Windows driver. Once you get it installed correctly, the device appears in device manager as "Realtek USB Smart Card reader" and works well.

Worked for 7 months, Provided a Replacement - Great Customer Service.
Purchased this in March and it worked fine, but unfortunately after 7 months the device stopped working. I tried changing to different USB ports, but the blue power light no longer lights up and the device is not recognised by the computer. The device was used mostly for SD cards and micro SDs, and was never transported from one place to another. I am a bit disappointed that it broke so soon, as it appeared to be built pretty solid. ------- Updated: The seller contacted me to offer me a replacement shortly after posting my review. I am very pleased with the customer service, as I did not expect to receive a replacement. Because of thi,s I have updated my rating to five stars as this encompasses my overall experience with purchasing this product.
