DaiyaDairy Free American Style Vegan Cheese Slices, 7.8 Ounce (Pack of 8)

Bought for my neighbor, she loves these, taste like real cheese.

After trying to figure out how this product would be shipped cold I decided to just try it. I am really not sure if the cheese was cold enough and also the cardboard was very soggy and smelled terrible. Probably not worth the expensive price tag when you are going to be worried the product might have went bad

I had high expectations since the product was re-worked but sadly. The cheese does not melt well, packaging is poor the slices stick together - they should have been individually wrapped. Used cold there is a slight after taste that lingers on the tongue.

My husband and daughter are dairy free. We have been able to use silk and so delicious products. But Everytime I eat Daiya cheese I get sick for 3 days. Worse pain then when gluten gets into my foods.

Pleasantly surprised. I'm picky, and, yes, I know this is "American" style cheese. However, Daiya did a good job of getting a nice creamy, mild cheesy taste without a weird texture or aftertaste. I will try it on cheese toast and see if it behaves like dairy cheese.Edited to add: Behaves really well toasted. It gets gooey like dairy American cheese, rather than stretchy, like dairy mozzarella or cheddar. Heat didn't change the taste, either, still tastes good.

I actually bought this cheese multiple times, and I never really figured out that it was the cheese actually making me sick every time I ate it. The taste was something that doesn't really bother me since I don't mind it much in a burger, but it's very similar in taste to artificial cheese you would find in those dip in cheese breadstick snacks. After a couple of hours, the cheese left me with cramps and a horrible stomach ache. I might be allergic to something in the product, but I would assume this would be safe to eat because I have gotten their mozzarella cheese before (no issues with that) and they both have the same ingredients.... Just warning anyone to think twice if you're also lactose intolerant.

This cheese was amazing at first, until they changed the formula in late 2018. It used to be tangy and creamy like dairy-based American cheese. Now it tastes bland and like nothing I ever want to eat again. The texture is no longer creamy, but more like a provolone. The taste is boring and gives me no reason to even bother eating it. If they go back to the original formula, I'll buy it again, but this new stuff is really horrible. What makes it even worse is that they claim that the formula is "improved". Not fooling me.
