Well printed and many useful information

Contains a lot of information, without being too complicated to read. A very helpful guide, I’d recommend to all new to keeping pet snails.

This book has pretty much everything you would need to know about land snails including information on keeping them commercially and how to humanely dispose of unwanted eggs. While it covers it all, it could do with being a bit more reader friendly and would be beyond an older child in some parts. It is best supported with a more plain English starters guide and there are alternatives that cover this on the market. Get this as a supporting text to another, friendlier and more colourful book.

Great book

Got this book this morning and read it all immediately. I got this book in the hopes that it would cut through all the variations in advice for taking care of my pet giant African land snails.It did contain useful basics but had many typing mistakes that made certain sentances nonsensical. It lacked details in important information (such as snail anatomy, snail behavior, snail medical care) that I was looking for.Most alarmingly it had dedicated sections on raising snails as food which felt very inappropriate for a book with " Pets" in the title. While it acknowledges the invasive nature of these snails it had a whole section on running your snail business. With lifespans of 10 years, GALS are not a light commitment.The book is written by GALS owners. The intro said the book was written "we are certainly no experts but below is what we do which works well for our snails" but without any details of experience as to how long or who they were or sources.The section I hoped would be the largest was medical care however it was not.
