ABD Tools AB-THP-002 Tap Handle Pusher/Remover - Grey

The product works beautifully - exactly as advertised. I had tap handles that could not be shifted with sprays or hammers or anything else. This thing lifted them off in seconds. I don't know what the other reviewer who trapped his finger was doing. This is so simple to use. The product as supplied did not actually fit the spindle on my tap. The notch was too narrow. I phoned the company and immediately got through to Graham who couldn't be more helpful and interested in my issue. He was eager to see photos of the problem. He offered to take the item back and widen the slot for me (all with free postage) - or he said it only needed a little filing which I could do myself and STILL return the item even if I made a mess of it. As a result of my feedback they are changing the product to have a wider slot. Remarkable service from knowledgeable people who actually care about their customers.

Purchased this product in a last ditched attempt to remove the old cross head tap handles before resorting to an explosive charge. The product was promptly delivered and was a lot better quality than I had expected. It worked extremely well, if only I had found this tool weeks ago.

I used this product to free off the tap handles fitted to the taps on my toilet sink. They would not budge using hammer blows, gentle tapping or whatever. This tool had them both off in minutes. Unfortunately, the cold tap handle was a bit tighter than the hot one and this made the tap spindle bend out of shape due to the force needed. I may be able to bend it back somehow. However, in hindsight and when using the product again, I would tighten the bolt a bit on one side, move the tool to the other side and tighten a bit more and keep changing sides in the hope that it will not distort the tap spindle due to applying much the same force to both sides of the tap spindle. At some point I will be fitting a new upper tap assembly to both taps as they are worn and in a beaten up state from trying to undo things in the past. I would have given this tool 5 stars if it had not bent the spindle but a brilliant tool otherwise and others have not mentioned the problem I had so seems to work well for most people.

Sorry but this was a complete waste of money. Surely the seller is aware that this doesn't fit standard size taps?

Worked exactly as described. Had a tap handle that would not come off, but when I used the Tap Handle Pusher it came off with ease. The only potential difficulty was that the device JUST fitted between the tap handle and the bonnet. This could be a potential problem for others (if the gap is less), although it worked fine for me.
