Wow!
Where to start? I saw Nena way back in the day, during the Fragezeichen tour. (I was with the US military) I had the records (we played records back then) but the CD's were lost in transit. Well, a few months ago I googled Pink Floyd's Us and Them and discovered Nena did a cover of it. Needless to say it is fantastic After binging on You Tube videos (Live in Berlin 2010 is great!) I said I need to find the CD's and this was - is - the bargain of the century. Go through the list of her greatest hits: Leuchtturm, Lass Mich Dein Pirat Sein, Vollmond, Nur Getraumt, Fragezeichen, Wunder Gescheh'n, Das Alte Leid, Das Anfang vom Ende and yeah, 99 LuftBallons, and they are all here. (Along with Ich Bleib im Bett, Rette Mich, Ich Hang an Dir and many other really good songs.). Now I need to get her later stuff because In Meinem Leben, (Das ist) Der Anfang, Liebe ist, and Schmerzen are just too good. Hard to believe she wrote a better love song than Leuchtturm, or a better ballad than Das Anfang vom Ende, but she did. Just Wow!And while it helps to understand German (mine is very rusty) it isn't necessary in this day and age. Crikey - Google Chrome translates on the fly - and there are tons of lyrics sites out there. You will not regret buying this set. Well you might because you will need the Nena Feat. Nena and the rest of her discography. Now if I can just get over to Berlin for the show in July...

Not for everyone
Like a lot of folks who were teens in the 70s and 80s I loved 99 Red Baloons. These five albums are the German groups home releases and are all in German, but even if you don't speak the language, the music is good and has a fun pop beat to it. If you're the type who insists on understanding the words, and you don't speak German, then this set isn't for you, but if you're a fan on a budget this is a great buy (I like the Original Album Classics in general for that very reason).

Nice album compilation
I just rediscovered Nena via youtube. I forgot how much I enjoyed the music. I wanted to get some of her music that was not played in the US much during the 80's. I really enjoy the melodies of her music. Granted I can't understand the German language but, I can appreciate good music when I hear it. There are some English language songs on these albums which is a bonus for me. You can't go wrong with the price either.

German alternative pop at its best
This is a great value, 5 early albums in one set. Not a rearranged set, but the original classic albums. Nena was and is one of the best alternative pop bands and Nena (Gabriele Kerner) has a great distinct voice. If you like alternative music from the 1980s this is a must have.

Essential collection.
Love Nena,"?" is one of my favorite albums.All five five albums sound great.My one and only gripe is that because it has been remastered from the original German release the english version of 99 Red Ballons is missing from the first album.

Lovely voice, lovely face, Nena can sing rock and roll and ballads, so underrated, just love her voice.
