This Thing Works Really Well!
We live in a small rural town about an hour and a half west of Nashville, and after the first year of the pandemic we've become "bombarded" with skunks. It seems like each and every night, my wife and I are awoken by a skunk meandering by the deck outside our bedroom, spraying for one reason or another, and . . . Well, you get the gist of it! We first looked into hiring an animal removal service, but wanting between $500 and $600 to remove one skunk, and knowing that they euthanize the animal(s), we decided to look elsewhere. Having been a hunter into my early-30s, and done a bit of trapping in my youth, I decided to look into purchasing a trap, so we purchased a Tomahawk Live Skunk trap, Model 924, from Amazon. Receiving the trap on the 9th of February, we set it up for the first time on the night of 15th and we've already caught our first skunk. It's alive and well in trap, and we're going to take it out this morning, about 4 miles from the house, and let it loose in the woods far, far from our home. I'd recommend this trap for anyone who's wanting to remove nuisance animal -- especially a skunk! -- from around their home and property. It's easy to set up and use, the animal can't spray you because it's solid opaque plastic, and you DO NOT have to euthanize the animal. Our little "friend" is now happy, healthy, and living in the bottoms in some farmers field, having the time of his life eating frogs and such. Take the time to purchase this trap, and save some wildlife!

Good trap works well. Easy to clean
Works great. Caught 9 skunks and 2 possums with it. Haven't been sprayed yet. Releasing the skunks is tricky. I found best way to release skunks is to stand up the trap vertically with the door facing upward. Open the door and use a C-clamp to keep the door held open, (cause you don't want them to step on the plate and close it again while they're exiting), then lay it down with the open door facing away from you and run. Also since it's made of plastic and metal you can just hose it out for easy cleaning.Another thing is since the skunks tails are down when then enter the trap I haven't had any of them try to spray inside the trap while I was relocating them.

Not easy to release animal
the cage is kind of complicated. I figured out how to set it. But once you catch an animal, releasing it is not easy at all. I cannot see a way to open and hold open the door to let the animal leave, while being a distance away.I will try to set up a string and weigh down the box with a block, and attempt to open with the string. But for 145, this part of the process shouild be built into the product.otherwise it does work, and will catch animals.

Good to know that it is indeed a skunk and ...
With this one, I didn't get sprayed. I was sprayed twice before when I used the more traditional design with no cover. This one works well and big enough for even the plus sizes! Can see through the openings to find out what has been trapped. Good to know that it is indeed a skunk and not your neighbor's cat before taking the animal far from home and release it. When I bought this product, it was not sold and shipped to Canada. I had to order it to be sent to a US address and took it back to Canada at a later time. This is my only complaint. I caught a big skunk in October and released her in a place close to a water source.

Works Fantastic
This trap works so much better than open cages…first night i caught 2 skunks using turkey lunch meat..released them miles away and no spraying. Used trick of putting rock under backend and in 5 minutes they walked out into the woods…easy peasy

Great trap
First time trapping, it was super easy to use. Put the trap out 2 nights in a row and woke up both mornings with a skunk in the trap. No sprays so far. Animal control employee that came to get the skunks said she loves this kind of trap. Also, the key is using tuna flavored cat food from a can as bait.

What a Waste of $140
The trap is built sturdy, I'll give Tomahawk credit for that. But it fails in functionality. We have set it properly according to instructions and baited it with several different attractants. Each time we check it the bait is gone and the trap remains open. The force required to trip the door release is too great for whatever is going in after the bait and we see no way to adjust that. Meanwhile, the skunks keep digging up the yard looking for grubs. It's looking terrible they are doing so much damage.

Catch and dispose without getting sprayed
We love the enclosed tube at our business. I have now been using it at our home. Two in two weeks! No problem blocking the end of the tube with an empty box and then spraying ether into the mechanism hole on the side. Puts them to sleep and the permanently to sleep. Slip the whole trap and skunk into a garbage bag and tie off the end to hold the ether in. That night, open the bag, open the mechanism and dump the skunk into the same bag, twist tie off the bag and drop it in the garbage can. I now own two of these, one for work, one for home. THEY WORK! Of course you have to provide the tuna fish.
