These work well, and we were able to lay a deck in about an hour. Ours was done over an existing concrete patio which had begun to break up and looked really drab.These deck tiles were an almost instant fix. They join together using the plastic framework on the underside and are surprisingly stable. Just make sure you get the surface as flat as possible and give it a good sweep over before laying the tiles.We treated ours with wood oil, and gave them two coats then edged the new deck with treated wood, stained to a similar colour as the deck tiles. We decided not to use varnish as we didn't want a slippery surface when they're wet. To keep the edges of the finished deck tidy, it's quite easy to cut or break off the protruding plastic connectors on the underside.The wood in the tiles feels like harder wood than the softwood used in ordinary decking, and hopefully it will last longer. Also, they sit almost flat on the surface that you're placing them, unlike standard decking which is raised up on joists, and you often get animals - mice, rates etc - living underneath. These are low to the ground, so it avoids that issue.These are a quick and relatively easy method of laying a deck which many will be able to do as a DIY project.

It’s easy to install. The quality of the wood is good. The reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is some of the wood tiles flipped up when I walked on it.

Bought to lay over the top of some existing decking. Very easy to put together, but with two minor quibbles. Firstly, it would be good if these actually clicked/locked in place - they don't. Secondly - I had to cut some tiles down to fully cover the deck. They are quite hard to cut down, as the plastic mesh that holds the slats together is very strong. Double-edged sword, I guess - shows they are durable, just made trimming a bit tricky! Seem to repel water nicely, and really do look very nice.
