Failed in under a year.
Bought for the car and I hardly ever bothered to connect and use it because connecting was flaky at best and yet it failed in under a year. Won't power up anymore. Has a year warranty but Amazon isn't like a shop... The month return window is up and now I have to find out how to do things to get a replacement or refund. No links on Amazon so I'm presuming direct contact with manufacturers and proving date of purchase? No doubt it will cost me postage? Disappointed. Can't be bothered to be honest which is probably what they rely on. Time Amazon made our easy to send things back within the warranty period.

Easy to use transmitter
Compact bluetooth transmitter/receiver that I purchased for the main purpose of 'transforming' my hi-fi system into a bluetooth enabled one for listening to music as I bimble about the house. It does what it says it will do, so therefore meets my needs - I've taken a star off as one set of my bluetooth headphones fails to connect to the 'STROOM' - but once you're connected everything operates just fine. As regards to range - I experienced no problems whilst remaining within 7 - 8 metres (through a couple of walls), once I am further that that away from the 'STROOM' there is some disruption to the playback - but off course that may be because of the limitations of my headphones?(BTW it's a set of Sennheiser 4.50BTNC that fail to pair. Succesfully paired Moto G5 mobile, Betron V7 earphones, Bluedio T4S headphones and Sony MDR-ZX770BN headphones - all paired separately, however literature states that TWO devices can be paired together).Recommended if your looking to 'update' older hi-fi systems

Problematic straight out of the box
I ordered one of these and a second one was ordered by my son. I have to admit to trying them a few months after receiving both of them instead of immediately.I tried to pair one as a receiver to another Bluetooth transmitter device, it failed, I then tried pairing the two Stroom devices together, that failed, I then tried to pair the first one with my phone that also failed, finally I swapped the functions around on the two Stroom devices and found that the one that was changed from Tx to Rx pairs okay with other Bluetooth transmitters. In other words, I have one unit that will flash blue and red and then pair in Rx mode and another unit that only ever flashes blue in Rx mode and will not pair with anything.I contacted Teknub on the 7th March and have not had any response.I have found that by various combinations of button presses (short and long) and mode switching from Rx to Tx and back has somehow fixed the problem with the device, don't ask me how or the exact sequence that worked. Both units now will flash blue and red and will pair.So not impressed with the product or Teknub.

The sound quality is quite good. Ease of use is OK
Simple, light and small. 12-13 hours of sound streaming on a full battery load. From a Bluetooth-enabled source (like a smartphone) to analog sound equipment (like the AUX port of a car stereo), or from analog devices (like a pre-Bluetooth TV) to Bluetooth headphones (like AirPods). The sound quality is quite good. Ease of use is OK: there is a setup procedure for each Bluetooth device, but once it has been done, that device connects fast and easily the next time around. The only thing I miss somewhat is automatically turning on and off as the power (through a micro-USB port) turns on and off: that would make it even more automatic in a car with a lighter-to-USB power adapter. It took me some time to figure out how to connect it to AirPods: it is a little delicate. (But, again, this has to be done only once.)1. Don't connect Stroom to an analog audio source yet (in contradiction with the manual)2. Put the switch on TX3. Turn it on (hold the button pressed for 3 seconds)4. Open the AirPod case, but leave the AirPods in5. Press and hold the round button on the back of the AirPod case for a number of seconds. The LED in the case will turn white, and after a while it will start to pulsate. Then release the button6. It may take about a minute before a connection is made - then the AirPod LED turns green and the Stroom LED turns to constant blue.7. If a connection has not been made after a minute or two, don't wait for it to happen later. The automatic re-try never works. Turn everything off and start over.
