Did you receive the ENER314 or the ENER314-RT
I just bought this pack, and at first I had exactly the problem with pairing as the comments show.BUT after a lot of investigation, I realized that I had not received the Pi-mote version that I expected. In stead of the "ENER314" I had expected to receive, I had received the "ENER314-RT". The big difference between these two, is that the ENER314 is controlled purely by writing to GPIO pins (using python and the energenie python package they also talk about in the description on this page), BUT!! the ENER314-RT can only be controlled using SPI and NOT by writing to GPIO-pins (of course SPI is also about writing to GPIO pins, but hopefully you understand what I mean)To utilize the ENER314-RT, you need to go to [...] and download the code-example (coded in C and not python) for that product.Be aware that the code-sample is poor - although it worksThe worst part with the example, is that the accompanying code does not allow for pairing the two sockes to different id's. Both sockets will be paired as socket 1 - unless you dig into the code and make you own version. You also need to correct the Makefile (adding -I and -L) before being able to compile. You may be able to find some hints here - although it is also not a complete description: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Energenie-ENER314-RT-Pi-Mote-2-Way-Adapter/dp/B012CDAPZM/ref=pd_sim_147_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=51LoneVxJRL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=138593G5ZFGJ2G7NZW1G#productDetailsEnergenie. You should really do a better job here. After finally getting the sockets paired, they seem to work without problems.

Really happy with this product, but transmitter sent is not the correct one
I ordered these to use with my Raspberry Pi, which is running Homebridge.IMPORTANT: The moment I receive it I saw something was wrong, the transmitter sent is not the one advertised and showed in the pictures. I was expecting to receive the ENER314 (one way pi-mote) but the one sent is the ENER314-RT (two way pi-mote). Even though the one I got is better and more expensive it is not good for what I intended. In the end I got a refund and bought the correct transmitter to use with this sockets. With the correct transmitter everything is working flawless. I can now control all of my sockets from my phone (I am using the native Home app from my iPhone), set scenes and automation rules (for example to turn on my Christmas tree lights when I get home if it's already dark outside) and ask Siri to control everything for me.I made some research in order to decide which wireless sockets to buy and I was undecided between these and the ones from Etekcity. I decided to buy these ones because they provide an integration with the Raspberry Pi out of the box (transmitter already prepared for the GPIO pins, just plug and use) and also because they provide both EU and UK versions. The only thing I would change is the "click" sound they make when turned on/off, too loud, but bearable, just a detail.I'm using them for a week now from my phone and from Energenie remote (that I also bought separately) without any fails.Overall, I'm really happy with this product, I can definitely say that this is a good and cheap start for a smart home project.

Great product and support but the range is short
My first received item was defective because the sockets weren't fit correctly on the sockets and they disconnect frequently, so I contacted to Energenie support and the track very well the issue. Finally I get a replacement item that worked perfectly. I'm not ratting them with five stars because, although it is on the manual, the could make more visible in the description of the item on the shop the short range of the signal and the necessity of attach an antenna to make the signal stronger.

Pairing with sockets doesn't work
Was really excited to try this out.. Bought one, had it shipped here to Germany and then the pairing didnt work. No matter what I tried the sockets just wouldnt pick up the signal. So I sent it back and got another one because I thought maybe it was a problem with the board. Same thing happens again with the new one.. The board is clearly sending a signal (LEDs lighting up when I use energenie's python script) but the sockets are just happily blinkin away, not detecting anything. I'm pretty annoyed now because I have to send this one back again.. I really wanted to use this product.

It doesn't work!
Unfortunately the ener314rt was impossible to set up with my raspberry, the plugs didn't sync. I've tried with 2 raspberry (B and 2B) and I've contacted with energenie support that tried to help me but finally they said me that probably I had a faulty ener314rt, so I requested a new one to amazon. But with the new one I had the same problem. Googling... I tried different info and code but again it didn't work, perhaps it's due to the code it's unable to work with European plugs?
