The description states that it is silicone, so I would assume they are BPA free. I use mine to reach clothes in the bottom of my deep wash machine, so it’s not a concern for me.

Not sure were they're made. Checked the tongs and they don't say. Have used them many times on my built in grill and they work great. Very good guality and made well.

It’s a soft rubber. It’s nice; I like it.

I would consider them hard silicone. Not hard as metal, but soft enough to grip things very well. I love them for getting clothes out of my deep LG washer.
