Shirokuma Cafe (Flower Comics Special)

I purchased this for my wife, who watched the anime and fell in love with it. She was delighted to receive the manga and says its great practice for Japanese. Since she watched the anime she already knew mostly what was going on and could focus on vocabulary. One of the best ways to learn new vocabulary is through all of Polar Bear's puns! The pictures aid in comprehension and it's just an adorable and enjoyable book overall.

Once I looked through the reviews I was very scared of receiving the wrong book, especially considering how long it takes to ship from japan but I’m very happy to have gotten the right manga! It is in great condition with no folds or tears. I’m so happy to have this now!

I ordered this manga and instead got "twin tail and machine guns". It's so random and funny I'm not even mad/ won't return it. Also the thought of the person who ordered that getting the manga instead is hilarious 😂😂😂

got this to learn to read Japanese as was recommended by many sites. Showed up perfect. Great little story. Simple words and a great beginner book.

Adorable but for some reason the package took forever to arrive to my house I almost thought it had been lost, asides from that I love this book.

I'm really glad that the manga came much earlier than expected, and it arrived in great shape! There wasn't any folds or wear from the package :)I think this is a great way to learn Japanese once you memorise and get used to both hiragana and katakana. It helps if you're also a fan of the anime series also.Anyways, thank you for the book!!

小学生の子供に買いました。絵も可愛いし、内容もクスッと笑えて親子で大好きです。子供も何度も読み返しては笑ってます。

思った以上に良い状態なので満足です。

本作掲載誌の月刊フラワーズをここ数ヶ月購読している。そもそもは別の作品が目当てで読み出したのだが、最近はこの「しろくまカフェ」にハマりかけていて、ついに単行本を買ってしまった。雑誌では毎回８ページ掲載される短編作品で、人間に混じって動物たちが人間同様に暮らしているパラレルワールドが舞台となっております。メインキャラクターは白熊、パンダ。ときどきコウテイペンギン、グリズリー、動物園の飼育員など。白熊が営む「しろくまカフェ」が舞台。パンダはカフェの常連。白熊はなんでもソツなくこなすオトナっぽい熊だが、ダジャレを言わずにいられない体質。基本的にお茶目。パンダはパラサイトシングルっぽくて、親にブツブツ言われてバイトに行きだした。怠け体質ののんびり屋で子どもっぽい。そこにほかの常連、おやじっぽいコウテイペンギンや動物園で働いている動物たち、パンダのバイト先動物園の飼育員などなどがからんで、ほのぼの＆脱力できるユーモアを醸すお話になっています。私は白熊の幼なじみであるグリズリーが気に入っていて、アーノルド・ローベルの絵本「ふたりはいつも」（かえる君とガマ君の友情物語）みたいな友情を彼らに重ねています。（そんないいものじゃないヨ！て声も聞こえてきますが…）ヒガアロハさんは絵が上手くて、特に動物の絵がイイです。（この作品、ほとんど動物しか出てこないのですが）人物の絵はキレイに描けるけど、動物はちょっと…というマンガ家さんも結構いるなかで、出色の上手さだと私は思います。パンダのあの、両足を投げ出したダラ〜ンとした座り方。全身脱力した寝そべり姿。白熊の直立した姿の自然なかんじ。イイです。スマートなデフォルメは、ちょいリアル寄り。それだけに、デッサンの確かさが問われます。私が「しろくまカフェ」にハマりつつある理由は、この絵の確かさにもあると思います。しっかり描けてる絵をみると、それだけで爽快な気分。脱力＆爽快が味わえる動物二足歩行マンガ。午後のお茶の時間なんかにめくるのにもピッタリです。
