Powerful, instructions lacking, has a slight smell when in use
This is pretty powerful, and the one-button operation could hardly be simpler. The display shows things like the voltage and current being used to charge the battery, and the temperature of the charger itself, and it just cycles through everything rather quickly, about a second or two a reading.I criticize the instructions because they do not warn you to use care for small-capacity batteries. I own several LiFePO4 batteries in the 6Ah size that I use for camping and solar charging, and the LiFePO4 setting on this immediately starts giving out nearly 7.8A of charge current- enough to really stress batteries whose total capacity is less than the maximum current this device tries to charge them at. For anything small you want to actually use the "Motorcycle" setting, because it limits charge current to 3A. I know this from experience, and reading the amp output on the device screen while it is in use, but the instructions do not warn you, they just say to use the LiFePO4 setting for LiFePO4 batteries, even though the high current this gives out by default can shorten small capacity batteries' lifespans by flash-charging them way too quickly. The large fan keeps this charger quite cool, even after a few hours use. It is noisy, but no more so than any high-power charger. What I didn't care for was the smell this gave off when warm, that "funky circuits" smell you might be familiar with. The device never overheated or anything, the fan does its job well, it just has a smell when really going that I couldn't help but notice.I do compliment the alligator clips used on this, they are firm and the slightly uneven teeth form a very good clamp. I was plenty happy with the clips, though they and the AC cord are short enough that using this on an actual vehicle and not just a loose battery would be rather awkward without an extension cable. This did charge well, when using the correct setting, and the clips are great. The display is more helpful than not and easy to read, but it cycles pretty quickly, slower would be better. The cooling fan works fine, but the smell under load was unpleasant. This is a fair choice, mostly, but it would not be my first choice, compared to my experiences with other chargers overall.

Extremely easy to use (almost brainless), but material quality could use some improvements
I recently acquired this trickle charger, and I’m quite impressed with its performance. Its build quality, no so much. It does have various charging modes, and caters to different battery types. Whether it’s automotive batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries, or motorcycle batteries, it’s got you covered. One of the nice features is the DC power supply mode that lets you power up small 12V equipment—super convenient! It advertises compatibility with AGM, GEL, SLA, and even lithium iron phosphate batteries. I used it on a 12V AGM without any issues. The large display is one the key shining features. It shows charging voltage, current, ambient temperature, and percentage. No more guessing games—just clear information. Now, let’s address the reason this is a 4-star item and not a 5: the lightweight build. Yes, it’s plastic, and that might raise an eyebrow, especially when we're talking about electronics like this. The lighter it is, the cheaper it feels, and that typically translates into LOW perceived quality. Also, a rubberized coating would be a nice touch to prevent or protect against accidental drops. Overall, though, it has proven to be reliable and extremely easy to us. It’s efficient, versatile, and—despite its plastic construction—gets the job done.
