Gregory Corso: Ten Times a Poet

Tribute to Gregory Corso
Leon Horton & Michelle McDannold have brought together articles by friends and Beat Generation scholars devoted to the poet's life and work. The views are wide-ranging, including material on Corso's tortured childhood, his imprisonment for juvenille crimes, his rise as a prominent Beat Generation poet, his travels in Europe, and his descent into alcoholism and drug addiction. A fascinating read for anyone interested in Corso and his poetry.

Powerful Collection!
Gregory Corso was a demon in life and on the page. Ten Times A Poet is masterfully told from multiple perspectives, many of them deeply intimate with Corso, and it really captures the life Corso lived and wrote about. It had the feel of an oral history at times, with stories that capture Corso at his best and worst; other times, the prose and poems about Corso sparkled across the page. This is both biography and tribute. If you're interested in poetry, the Beats, art, criminals, and rebels, check this one out. Highly recommended!
