Write speeds could be a bit better but read speeds are solid and the drives are holding up. I’ve been using these as windows restore drives, and they get rewritten every time there’s an update. So far none have failed, yay!

I have several of these smaller thumb drives for use when sorting pictures. I've had NO problems with any of them as they have all functioned perfectly (I have about 8 of these and will be purchasing more soon). Not everyone needs these smaller thumb drives but I find them REALLY handy for sorting. I've been in and out of all of the ones I have, adding and deleting and have had ZERO issues with any of them. I do run diagnostics on them fairly frequently (I'm MAC based) and maybe that helps to keep them running smoothly, as in the past I've lost entire thumb drives of important documents or pictures that I was unable to recapture because I hadn't thought to do that. Just a suggestion if you only use thumb drives occasionally........

This review is for a Teamgroup C211 16GB Pro: Cheap, Metal Case, status LED, Has a cap Cons: When cap is placed on end of drive, the cap covers the status LED. The memory ICs are air gapped; they do not make contact with the metal case. Drive constantly throttles. No DRAM buffer. Flash test programs fail this drive. Manufacture claimed read is 75mb/s. I saw a read speed between 70-90mb/s. Manufacture claimed Write speed is 50-70mb/s. For large files I saw a range of 4-12mb/s, with an average of about 9mb/s. It does appear to burst at 50mb/s, but this speed is not maintained for large files. Technical: USB VID 13fe (Phison Electronics Corp) USB PID 6700 USB Class 08 note: 2 out of 3 flash drive test programs have errors with this drive, see photos. It appears that this drive has problems when the last few blocks are used. Write errors and verification errors occurred, see photos. I tried the formats NTFS, FAT32; they all had similar issues. I tried logical & physical drive, same problems with the last blocks. Because of the errors that the flash test programs encountered on a reproducible basis, I do not recommend using this drive. My opinion is that this drive has issues: some reasons for the errors might be mapping issues, aka it's overprovisioning firmware is faulty; it loses track of block mapping and ends up using previously used blocks. The manufacture uses the term "lifetime warranty". Teamgroup has published a few different versions of the warranty, each with different wording. One says "For damage caused by deficient manufacturing processing or poor materials". Meaning, it does not cover writes exceed the internal unpublished specification for the flash memory. Another says, "Video shooting, security system, surveillance system, and continuous video monitoring devices are not covered by the warranty."

Basic drive, not very fast

Writing speed 8-10 m/s, not stable, and quickly over heat
