Projective Geometric Algebra Illuminated

This is the best book on the subject. PGA introduced the right way with well presented diagrams and clean typesetting.

This glorious book will take me months to work through - there's so much beautiful detail, impressive drawings and concepts that are new (to me). Worth paying the extra for the hard cover version.

High quality book. I suggest the hardcover version. Lengyel present his take on Projective geometric algebra (PGA) and Conformal geometric algebra (CGA). It offers an intuitive approach on geometric algebra and provide generous explanations and illustrations to help the reader understand the math.

Worth every star. All else fails with comparison to this book. This is all new stuff coming from a practitioner out of academia. This is the highest quality research you have gotten at the frontiers of GA. I already implemented PGA presented here and it's a pleasure to work with. Ordering of bases so that they expose geometric relationships rather than generic ordering in other books will become standard. I'd suggest adding problems and examples to the next edition to make it easier for newcomers.

Layout and figures matter in technical math books, and this book is excellent in this regard. The illustrations are crisp and readable; the tables are spacious and clear. The use of color makes this a thoroughly ergonomic read. I know this says nothing about the content, but you're going to be looking at a bunch of math gobbledygook and trying to make sense of it, so it's important the text helps you consume it. If you've ever lost your place on the page while reading an old Dover paperback, you know layout matters. As for the content, Lengyel brings an important perspective: when and how to actually use projective geometric algebra in practical applications. If you're like me, you've been eager to shoehorn PGA into anything that could use it, because it's such a cool topic. I'm glad there's someone sensible with practical experience to keep me in check, and his opinion on these points is the primary reason I bought this book. That the book itself is excellently presented is just a neat surprise; I would've bought it regardless. From previous experience with Lengyel's game engine books and GDC talks, I already know he's great at explaining math stuff.

I am enjoying this publication. Eric Lengyel's thorough explanations are illuminating! Couldn't resist. I first ran into the geometric algebra through Ramon González Calvet's "Treatise of Plane Geometry Through Geometric Algebra" many years ago. This volume, "Projective Geometric Algebra Illuminated", offers the opportunity to improve on my grasp of these useful techniques and the unifying nature of the theory. I am especially impressed by the promise to compare and contrast the utility of various methods so as not to offer the geometric algebra as a panacea to all practical problems.
